A man who sent a picture of his genitals to a 15-year-old girl has become the first person in England and Wales to be jailed for a cyber-flashing offence.
Campaigner Sophie Gallagher explains her own experience with cyber-flashing, in which she was sent 120 cyber-flashing images while on the London Tube.

Terrible title. A lot of people will read that as if it was the victim that sent 120 indecent images rather than the victim *was* sent 120 indecent images.

Good point, but that's how headlines work though. Passive sentences headlines are formulated without the auxiliary verb, and only with the past participle.

I think your headline should have read: "Cyber-Flashing Victim WAS Sent..." The way it reads now, it sounds as if the victim sent the texts (after she'd been cyber-flashed).

That's not how airdrops work. You have to accept it yourself, and continue to accept subsequent drops i.e. the other 119 images.

That may not be how AirDrop is _supposed_ to function, however throughout the years, there have been several security exploits in iOS which bypass the usual confirmation prompt. This is, or rather was, a well known and well documented vulnerability.

You have to accept anything sent by Bluetooth, which means she saw a notification and clicked on accept. Also 120 pictures sent by Bluetooth 😅 if you've ever tried sending anything by Bluetooth more than just an mp3 it takes a long time. Lets say its anywhere between 100mb and 500mb that would take at keast a few minutes where she could cancel the transfer. Sounds a bit suspicious to me. Not saying what he did was right or that she deserves it but still seems a bit sus.

The way you worded the title it reads that the victim sent the pics. You missed the word "was" making the title dumb. You'd think the programme makers would know how to write a meaningful sentence.

There's probably a record of that users MAC address somewhere on her phone or in the Apple cloud. Wouldn't it be interesting to find out who did that and hold them accountable. If it goes to court the judge can subpoena the records.

Yeah and if I remember correctly (could be wrong), when photos are airdropped, the picture appears immediately right there on the receiver's phone along with the "accept" and "reject" buttons. So if someone airdropped nudes to random people who had airdrop turned on, those ppl would end up seeing the image straight away regardless of whether they accepted it or not. And even if you did have to accept it before you saw what it was, I agree with your analogy. People shouldn't be sending their unsolicited nudes out to random people, no one wants to see that and it could end up sent to a kids phone or something.

She would have to not only accept the attachment but then download 120 images and then complains. You want this to be fair Arrest every OnlyFans model that's damaging kids on social media by promoting it. Ban the websites and finally start holding Women as accountable as men for their actions!

Nope.. can't see anyone having a go at the 'victim' here, just common sense & logic regarding accepting & viewing random pics sent from strangers 🤦 EDIT - my comment was in reply to several people accusing the original comment of 'having a go at the victim' but for some strange reason, their comments have either been retracted or I can no longer view them. In addition, I can no longer see all the other comments similarly accusing people of blaming the victim & judging male comments to be 'typical' etc.. I guess they were all retracted?

In normal circumstances when you receive the first picture after seeing the content. Normal person deletes it and then turns off the Bluetooth. She continued receiving 119 other pictures tells me a different story… Anyway as usual the legacy media continues its own narrative…

If I remember correctly though when you airdrop a picture it appears on the receiver's phone along with the "accept" and "reject" buttons so they would still see the image regardless of accepting it or not

As I understand it there have been several security issues with iOS which means it can sometimes bypass the usual confirmation prompt. 66 weeks in prison? Nope. All custodial sentences are always reduced 50% so he will do 33 weeks at the very most, possibly less if he behaves himself.
