There's a high chance that there were lots of obscure, distant content referenced all of a sudden when Gus started selling information. Assuming they didn't all just straight up plagiarize, students could have used the content legitimately and cited the source, but they could write basically anything because if it wasn't already in the school library, what chance did the teachers have of tracing back to the source?

Once again I love all the little details: Gus' Grinch smile, Michael's bagel guy and Gavin's teachers reappear, Gus' beard grows when he logs onto the Internet. So very creative.

And last week, young Gus was convinced that internet pictures would never take off.

"It worked out well for a while." For a while? That makes it sound like things went south at some point, and that sounds like it would be interesting. Course, he may just have been muscled out when the internet became more ubiquitous.

You had a bubble jet printer? Damn. My first Internet experience was with a teletype dot-matrix printer, which used ink-ribbon technology. I used Gopher, Archie, Jughead, and the like, and doing that on a teletype was just too time consuming, so I gave it up until a few years later when it got easier.

Hahaha Cracked my ass up when Geoff said he sold blowpops. Used to have a recurring post Halloween op back in elementary school,selling candy to the rich kids whos parents wouldnt let them wander alone on the streets for hours procuring backpacks full of it. Actually turned into a speak easy concession stand on the bus and out of my locker after I made the mind blowing discovery of things like unit pricing and markup. Realized if I reinvested in my business I could keep that biz goin year round. And feed my closet Lego addiction that would otherwise have been beyond my social economical reach. (Things were fuckin expensive even back then) Who knew peddling sugar to the children of well to do new age granola lovin wican mother software dad 90s parents would have been so lucrative 🤔 And thats what I learned in skools 🙃
