Waldman says in dealing with a cyber attack like this companies always want to follow three steps. Notify the insurance company, consult an outside provider and involve federal authorities. But most importantly stay prepared.
Our Gm dealership is completely down from service to sale and parts and even our payroll departments in all dealership locations and one of the concerns is our history of the last say 5 plus years of service and sales being deleted when they get the CDK back up and operational. Can that equipment be remotely messed with in warehouses anyway? The equipment stopping in the middle of an isle when another is going to hit you or a pallet is going to fall down isn't good, or hydraulics doing stuff by themselves or quick pick operation being altered...I think that I have heard subtle threats by people creatively saying things at at least one place.
No it cannot be. Only thing that can happen is the trucks stop and be locked out. And if that happens it's a simple plug to disconnect the truck from any online system
