Honestly the best part about Maximum Mike being in 2077 is just that half his new reports make for great campaign ideas for 2020 or Red. That and it reminds me of listening to Coast to Coast AM.
I mean... they were. Best Example: when he's talking about the Carbon Plague that's Mike Pondsmith dropping a massive easter egg on the CyberGeneration sourcebook that - if memory serves - takes place near the end of the 2020 Storyline. Much of what is mentioned by Max Mike can be found in the preexisting source material. And if you want it, be ready to pay a premium for hardcopy...
thank you so much for this i love that mike did this, such a cool way for the "god" of this universe to speak to the player and provide extra depth to the lore while practically trolling them with contorted theories about the truth of night city. wake up night city!
I seem to remember people THINK the doctor in the flashback when Alt gets taken and Johnny going into Arasaka after her is played by him too but I don't know if anyone's confirmed that.
I just love that they included the voice of god in the game but they make him a conspiracy theorist so you're left to wonder where the line is between fact and fiction (it's all fiction but y'know what I mean)
best part, all of it, ALLL OF IT is actually real information from other cyberpunk modules and stuff from the tabletop. the first thing is from a horror module or a reference to their cross over wiht the white wolf line of ttrpgs called the world of darkness ask vampire the Masquerade. the 3rd story is the set up for the (now non-canon) cybergeneration where things became much more super powers and extraordinary abilities.
I was hoping someone would compile this; I listened to nothing but Morro Rock ingame, but unfortunatly only ever caught two of Mikes snippets instead of music. So, thank you very much for this, it''s greatly appreciated

The part about The Net being Hell stuck with me, it might not be the *actual* Hell written in The Bible but it is certainly a Hell of our own creation, a place where beings far more powerful and intelligent than any Human alive lurk and can kill us without ever even touching us, a place where the minds and "souls" of people can be trapped forever and pulled apart piece by piece. I'd say it fits the definition of Hell, if not pretty damn close.
So, that one about the ESA, is that not literally what happens in the Corpo start? The Net one makes me a tad skeptical, but that one gives him cred, so... interesting, if nothing else. Also, the secure vault on Luna is totally where Malcador the Sigillite got the Rosetta Stone and I will *fight you* on that.
It is the corpo start. Your boss even mentions that they might lose their base license because of some problem and he is a middle manager. Under the director of counter intelligence.
@@wobblefoot7607 That's what I thought, yeah! Corpo start was way shorter than Nomad, which is the lifepath I spent the most time with, so I wasn't sure. Haven't done Street Kid yet.
Yes it is. You can find references to the corpo origin in the game even if you dont play, the boss is in the collumbarium and the you can find the guy who betrayed him/corpo V who wound up committing suicide

I think the Vampire commentary is a reference to Ianus Games Alternate Reality licensed Cyberpunk alternative universe Nights Edge. The commentary about kids developing strange powers is absolutely a reference to the other alternative universe which RTG produced themselves, Cybergeneration. The commentary about werewolves refers to one of the adventures in Tales From The Forlorn Hope.
Its also a reference to some old fanwork that had the World of darkness with Vampire the Masquerade taking center stage in the dystopian cyberpunk future.
The Vamps and Werewolves could also be references to Shadowrun. Cyberpunk/Fantasy hybrid TTRPG. Shadowrun has something called the HMHVW virus that, depending on your character's metatype, can effectively make you a Vampire or a Werewolf.
Holy shit, that one about the net being connected to the Vatican would be such an interesting dlc. There’s a near infinite amount of stuff they could adapt in the cyberpunk universe
The truly scary part is that when you consider some of the stuff that has happened in the Cyberpunk world (and our own!) most of these stories doesn’t actually sound that crazy…
So I've been playing 2077 for about.. idk 2-3 months now and I usually just listen to the dirge while I drive. I recently was drawn to the rpg version of this game n watched Mike gm a game of cyberpunk 2020. Today I decided randomly to check out the Morro Rock Radio station and who do I hear talking....Mike Pondsmith....sooo cool they had him in the game giving us extra lore and cool details in the corn of a dj
Funny how he thinks Yorinobu was dead while Kei still lives while it's the inverse. And it's frightening how close he was to figuring out Saburo's immortality as well as other rumors.
Man, imagine how cool it is to make a setting, pour so much time and thought into it, and then get to voice a character that basically let's you gush about lore ideas in a multi million dollar game.
Yessssss!!! I always love the versions of the Radio New Vegas compilations with the Mister New Vegas voicelines, and I love Max-Mike's lines on Morro Rock, so I'm SO GLAD that I found this! ^v^ Being able to listen to all of these is awesome, and also WOW his radio voice is awesome. Thanks for assembling this!
Mike pondsmith seems like such a cool guy. As flawed as the game is, I don’t know if I could imagine the excitement of his world being brought to flesh in this way
I NEVER fucking knew this was the fucking creator doing these pirate radio broadcasts in the game. it was always a treat when I was driving (and the game didn't bug out to where my radio stopped working no matter how often I changed the channels) to hear these! This is so awesome.
THANK YOU! every time i got on a bike id get pigs called on me and then fight music would cancel Mike... OR id jump on the bike and he would be 50 seconds into a conspiracy theory.... spent two hours driving around I-9 he gave me ONE news link.... now I can turn off the radio and listen to documentories or my music which is more cyber punk than their list is. :P
First of all thanks for this. Really. You're doing the lord's work here. Second, I'll say it again : what we need in this game is something akin to "Assassin's Creed Discovery Tour" where you can walk by a monument and have a voice explain you why the hell the greeks built it. Thanks for putting this out because sometimes I like to drive with the car with no music and other times I've been wanting to listen to the other stations the only reason I try to listen to this station is for this only so I'm glad you all put in one video so I can listen to it finally and hear the other stations cuz I was worried about missing them but now I can just listen to them all at once thanks

Most likely, no. Some of the things he says are certifiably false in game in side quests. It's not a stretch to assume there's some truth to what he's saying now and then, but he's just supposed to be kind of a conspiracy nut, I think.
@@nathanielkramar9376 Johnny looks like a werewolf, he appears at night to take over V with impulsive emotions and violence, has silver claws on one arm and red goggles eyes, even wears a dog tag.
@@nathanielkramar9376 The werewolf thing is canon btw. The "old marc he used to know" is actually a character of a friend of his from a gig in Romania he GM'd where they find bio-engineered werewolfs.
Pickman was a character from a couple of H. P. Lovecraft’s horror stories. He was known for his strange and grotesque paintings of occult subjects, like witches and ghouls. Think something like Hieronymus Bosch or William Blake. I’d imagine this is a reference to that.
Youre shimra dude. I cant stand 2077s crap radio music so I very rarely hear these but every time I do I love them. Wish he just had his own anti-establishment talkshow instead of segments wedged inbetween bad, repetative music.
