It's incredible. Stay for my review, but yes, I gave it a 10, and Phantom Liberty the perfect capstone after years of trauma and recovery from the original Cyberpunk 2077 launch.
Despite all the bugs and all the problems I loved cyberpunk from the day it launched on PC! I played the story once and spent like 90 hours finishing it with almost everything I could do at the time. I always wanted to play it again! Looks like 2.0 might be the time to re-instal it :)
This is so awesome to hear! I bought Cyberpunk for like $20 about 3 months after it launched, and have been waiting 3 years to finally play it. Sounds like the wait was worth it!
Props for holding yourself back for so long! I bought it on PC at launch and had a good time, but all the updates since have quickly turned it into one of my all-time favorite games. Tho, I kinda wish I could experience it for the first time again with the 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty.
For those wondering when Phantom Liberty kicks in, it’s after you complete the Voodoo Boys chapter after meeting Alt for the 1st time. You will then get a call from Songbird(?) to start the DLC
I have been counting the seconds since the reveal to jump back into 2077. I played for the first time in January and it's been my favorite game this year with Remnant as a close second.
I’m very glad they’ve been able too turn this game around, I was all in at the start I even bought some collectibles and was pretty disappointed when I got my hands on it but always said that without the bugs and performance it would be a excellent game
I swore I would never get hyped for cyberpunk again. Now I am refreshing GoG every 10 minutes because in this broken timeline CDPR hasn't released the patch yet. It is the 21st right?
As far as ammo goes - I have 17000 rounds for my main gun and 1M credits. The semi Beowulf is incredibly efficient with ammo while being a good weapon in many scenarios, from one shot headshots from concealment, and works close up shooting fast.
I played at launch on a good pc (ryzen 7 3700x and 2080, then later 5800x and 3080) so my experience was good from day 1. While you were hard on cdpr for the launch, I felt like you were really the only reviewer that didn’t just fully lean into the memes of cyberpunk dead game. So your glowing review means that much more for sure!
its been a real trip watching / reading your coverage of cyberpunk 2077. From frustration at your criticisms to the game on launch because I felt you were ignoring the great game that was underneath, to literally watching you now praise what I believe to be a fantastic game... and along the way learning to respect your well reasoned criticisms and appreciate your analysis as a reviewer. It probably wont matter much since youre a big shot on Forbes but ive subscribed and look forward to everything you have to say on games because you might just be one of the most credible commentators on this subject around. And I grew up with the good giant bomb
Even though you have some biases for the game. your honest about that and the game. Alot of reviews are just gushing over the game and not many are talking about what they dont like.
I played 40 hours at launch, never finished it but remember really enjoying the story. What put me off was the bugs, glitches and lack of RPG mechanics, poor driving and missing wanted system. I have been waiting years to replay this game. The downside is there are just too many good games this year and I just don’t know where I have time to play this yet
It's a bit ridiculous that the CDPR marketing team is blocking reviewers from using their own gameplay footage. My takeaway, just like last time around, is that the developers, writers, gameplay designers, and the vast majority of other people in the post-game credits are incredible at what they do, while the execs and marketing team do their best to undermine them at every turn.
@@sneed915so? The fact is they didn’t ditch it like other AAA gaming companies do. Hate the game (and CDPR) if you wish. You have every right to. But can we please stop grieving those of us who are a little more forgiving and enjoyed the experience regardless?
Elba's performance was a let down. He's been on a downward trend since The Wire, and the amount of work CDPR's animators do can't prop his performance up to 'good'. He has decent scenes, especially in one of the ending branches, but most of the time he's very bland, particularly when you push him before 'the ambush'.
This was one of my favorite games before 2.0 dropped. Combat is still easy...but feels tedious now due to level scaling. Police need to be turned down a bit as they seem to aggro a bit too easily....but at least they are still dumb as jumping up onto something is usually enough to make them go blind and forget about you. I prefer the passive perks to the limited paths you can take now when spending perk points....meh. Can't comment on the PL story yet though.....as I am was only 3 missions in when I got bored and went off to play something....anything....else. It probably didn't help that the Chimera boss glitched at 2% health and no prompt appeared so I had to restart the game and the fight 6 times before I lucked out and was able to finish it off.... To be honest, I have experienced more bugs....including major bugs that require a restart to continue...since 2.0 than I did at launch....far more...including CTDs.
Can you confirm if Mantis Blades finishers still fuck you out of Sandevistan? Like before it used to either use up all your time, or straight up take you out of it/cancel it
The base game and Phantom liberty is on sale for $60 on steam right now until oct. 1st, and that is a pretty great deal for what this game offers. If you don't own the base game, this is the perfect time to pick it up.
Yea he deserves the sweet suffering of addiction withdrawal. It is his destiny to grace us as only he can with his views on OTHER GAMES. Hee hee hee...
Man you had to go and mention how good Cherami Leigh is. I've done 2 playthroughs and each time with her because I love her voice and performance so much in this and was determined to make my 2.0 playthrough with male V and now I'm conflicted again.
🫨🫨🫨🫨🫨 PLEASE HAND CANNON REVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!😖😖😖 The one V uses to destroy the motorcycle in the trailer. A good hand cannon is the only thing that would make me consider buying the DLC.
Im happy, at least, that the dlc is diving into the more political aspects of the cyberpunk world. The Peralez quest was one of the most memorable stories in the game.
My one concern is the new police chase system. Otherwise I’m excited for the update. In the GTA games there are so many fun ways to break the law…rob a gas station, blow up a cash truck on the highway, steal an airplane etc. But in cyberpunk the only real way to break the law is essentially by assaulting someone on the streets or stealing a car. Did they add anything new in this regard?
Lets be real, it's not any more rampant than Liberty City. What incentive do I have to shoot civilians and cops on the street? Just so that I can interact with their new police chase system? This is a sandbox issue.@@The_Babe
I don’t think that the overhaul is going to change things *that* much! This game was never meant to be GTA2077, no matter how deceptively it was marketed.
I don't think it has to be GTA2077 to add a few more law breaking mechanics to go along with their brand new police chase system. It just seems silly to not do this. But, like I said, I'm generally excited for the update.@@JosieJOK
Thanks for the tip that 2.0 comes out tomorrow (though it might be out already with a UK launch time), i thought I'd have to wait until Phantom Liberty. I got the game on sale a few months ago when I heard about 2.0 and figured I'd wait until that launched to play. I wasn't necessarily planning on getting Phantom Liberty, but I may have to now
I bought the game in the beginning got a refund came back and controller controls still felt fucking awful glad they offered a trial so i could know im never buying this game unless i get a pc
I may be in the minority of players who didn't like the voice work for either male or female V. I found both to be pretty flat, them having this breathy tough-guy hoarse/whisper voice delivery the entire game...like someone doing an impression of a tough guy for laughs.
I liked the male. My first playthru was female and I 100% agree about that though. she infuriated me with how tough she always tried to sound. I hated that I couldn't change it throughout the playthru but didn't wanna restart after many hours progress.
It's not been officially announced, but it's likely either 12pm PST, which is the usual time for past patches, or 7pm PST, which is the time the game itself launched and I believe the time for the DLC launch on Tuesday.
@ChimpoTalksGaming lol I'm trolling I have no clue what he uses. That video camera is ancient lmao it's from around the 80s and I believe the microphone is like from the 50s
It was only ever a beta if your weak PC couldn't run it. For the rest of us, we been enjoying the game for years now. Don't have peasant problems sorry
