I'm happy if people enjoy the game in any capacity but you can't really fix the fundamental issues of the game. The worst part is how unnecessary the whole butchering was. The first two hours of this game are legitimately good, then you get the cybercoof and everything goes downhill. The game drops any pretense of being an RPG and just becomes a generic looter shooter with a very linear story. You can't unbake the cake. It's that simple.
My biggest gripe is also with this half baked looter shooter mechanic that came out of nowhere. Whole game has like a dozen different firearms so you're just confronted with the same shit and different stats. I think at one point someone at CDPR set a release date and everyone working realized that what they were planning wasn't gonna be remotely possible so they switched the entire thing up in like a week. "How much can I remove so that it still kinda works?" Reduce skilltrees to bare minimum, slash any story and quest choices, slash interactivity and accesibility of the map, lock off an entire district and the just rebrand the whole thing an "action adventure", pretend you never said anything to the contrary and just pray to God that no one asks too many questions.
I've been keeping an eye on the updates with a distant hope of the game being salvaged from mediocrity. At this point I think I'd rather watch a behind the scenes about what happened to this game's development than to actually play it.

I am always interested to hear your thoughts on current games, especially one that was so monstrously hyped to such a ridiculous degree. As much as cdpr are at fault, many people set themselves up for avoidable disappointment and it broke the trust gamers had for cdpr. Which may not be a bad thing, it has often been said that none of these companies are your friends. They are a business, they want your money first and foremost and they will say anything to get it even before their product has released. Always keep that in mind and you can never be deceived.
Hyped? Everyone hates Cyberpunk and CDPR now because they scammed everyone. No one will ever buy another CDPR game. They will go bankrupt soon because almost everyone refunded Cyberjunk.
I played for a couple of hours last night. I noticed an improvement in the AI for sure. I was in a shootout and took cover in an alley way. I was expecting the enemies to funnel through the opening but they actually took it slow, and had another one flank my right side. I was actually in shock like "omg they're actually trying to flank me" lol
Honestly, Cybercrunk is one of the best examples of why gaming is relatively dead in the mainstream ecosystem, right up there with No Man's Sky. They delayed it multiple times, they had partnerships with effectively every major multimedia conglomerate on the planet, and yet out of $300m, over 8 years of alleged dev time, we get this, something that is so horrible that it perfectly illustrates, and provides concrete proof for, what I like to call Cybercrunk Syndrome. Despite the leads having lied to everyone from the investors to the fans, from being deliberately dishonest with early reviews to bribing said reviewers to add more hype, they released a game so incredibly broken and incomplete that at least 40% of the content was cut and even something as basic as the LOD was broken on launch, and all to what? Rabid fanboys who fight tooth and nail to say that "it's not that bad", "it's just a hate train", "it's a good game", "well, I never experienced even a single glitch", and other bullshit. It is such incredible levels of delusion that it provides some pretty damning evidence to the claims of mass brainwashing within modern entertainment media. Whether it's Star Citizen or No Man's Sky, whether it's Cybercrunk or the new CoD/Battlefield/now-generic-shooter, these people viciously defend these companies and releases to the point of attacking any form of dissent. When you tack on the fact that modern companies are greedy and parasitic rather than cooperative and symbiotic, it all paints a rather dark portrait of what's to come. If the cash is king, then the art is the slave.
Their biggest mistake is making customization so simple. I wish everything was dispersed throughout the city. Shops for tattoos, makeup & hair, weapons, teeth…etc. It would’ve given the city more purpose.

Eh. Ironically, SM here praises some nerfs after saying he doesn't like nerfs. There are times when it makes sense in a single-player game. For example, if I want to use a certain weapon class or build but they are SO overpowered that it breaks the game; I have to either gimp myself, or play differently, or have no fun because the game is stupid easy. So if I like fire magic but fire magic is crazy strong, I want to it to be nerfed to be more in-line with the rest of the game so I can HAVE FUN while using it. In some games, you might HAVE to take an over-powered perk to get further along the tree, so if I want to play with that tree at all, I have to break the game. I understand having some OP weapons in a game, that's fun, but if the options are either "the same boring shit" or "OP weapons", well, that kinda sucks; I want some variety that is NOT stupidly powerful too. Skyrim is actually a great example of other areas where nerfs need to happen; moderate investment in blacksmithing and enchantment can easily result in you being nearly unkillable. Not some kind of exploit, mind you, just leveling them like normal. But minor investment is basically a total waste of time--if you bother at all, you have to level it a fair amount, but then you quickly stumble into game-breaking territory. There's not really a balance there--I want skills like that to matter without being mandatory, but also not break the fucking game. But I will agree that devs often fix the dumbest shit. Oh, this one weapon is too strong? Well, okay, it's fun to have some OP weapon to fuck around with. Or there's an exploit to get infinite perk points? Eh, so what--let me have that fun end-game, where I'm a demi-god. I want the main game of any game to be fun to play through multiple ways, but if there is some broken stuff at the end, that's fine, or some cheap, specific exploits to use if I get bored or stuck, no big deal.
I knew this update was not enough when people's first compliments were that they added apartments. Not fixed the game and made it run good, no, apartments. That will surely revive this mangled corpse of a game.

Honestly, the problem with this game wasn't the bugs. People can tolerate bugs... if the game is good. Almost none of the mechanics they advertised were included, the main story is just a walk-along with keanu reeves. Actual cyberpunk elements are missing; its always day in night city which is an awful choice as well. When people say they want a rpg, they aren't saying they want a leveling system or leveled enemy. They want meaningful roleplay decisions, conversation choices, branching actions, and an immersive setting & narrative. Put plainly, it's just a bad game.
You know a game company has fucked up when updates about basic shit that should have been in the vanilla pack the whole time are promoted as a big deal. Christ, this fucking sucks. I loved Edgerunners and I was considering getting myself a copy of the game, but I don't think I will.

I'm disabled. My hands specifically, were unfortunately burned very badly. I still have use of them, but with severely diminished dexterity and strength, and I don't think I ever picked easy mode in my life. Which honestly, says more about game journo's than anything else.

The game is better, feels harder no more cheesing with 4 armadillo mods with massive armour buffs. More player homes is good, only bought 1, it has some little mini back story to the previous owner, not sure about the others. Rewards for finishing fixer missions is good but nothing special. I saw some random police car chases involving gangs which is cool but the game should have been full of these little random things. Crowds not disappearing helps to maintain some level of immersion. Driving feels better but its nothing to write home about. Its better but the level it was at was not hard to improve.
It still just feels like you're not really playing an RPG, for the most part. Think New Vegas. Do things for one side or another, hurts your reputation or improves it. In this game you kill legions of gang members and they're like "Eh, wha'chu gonna do, eh? Happens, not like we care about our businesses/members/money". They even seemed to advertise this in trailers, with gangs sending people after you. Randomly showing up to try and kill the player in a van they were shooting from the back of. Now that might be something people WANTED from this game. To feel like the world reacts to them, you know like an RPG and even some games that AREN'T rpgs do these days. Like RDR2 where shooting up towns can end up with some woman screaming at you for killing her husband or other such things, but that game lets you talk to every npc in the game, so it's already way ahead of it, in some RPG aspects and it's not an RPG, just has some RPG elements. But then again neither is Cyberpunk anymore unless they rolled back that cyberpunk is now an action-adventure with roleplay elements or what ever they changed it to before initial release.

@@mr.sinjin-smyth I mean outerworlds lets you kill everyone without exceptions, except some people that take a little longer to get to, before you can kill them, but still, you can kill everything in the game world. So yea, obviously it's better, even if it drags on a bit after a point and I can't quite put my finger on why. There's alot right, but it's still missing something, something that makes me capable of playing new vegas to the end, but I start feeling "how much longer" with outer worlds.
I love how people say people set themselves up for disappointment with this game. I wanted a good Cyberpunk RPG. Instead I got a mediocre shooter, with a pseudo RPG skillsystem, 99% of which is statboosting that in no way affects the way you play. And honestly, after 15 months, the biggest change they made to Skilltrees was minor rebalancing and you can now pick up throwing knives again. Great.

I watched CDPR presentations and their developers as they made promises and talked about the features and the type of game it was gonna be. I’m not even talking about the bugs. While its ridiculous for any game to be released in that state, that was the least of what pissed me off. For years I’ve listened as they promised something entirely different from what they released.
CD Project hyped in the The Witcher 3 fans war with Skyrim and said "Bethesda we will do a game with all what you put in your games (freedon in creation and exploration, multiples guild/factions, a lot of quests and radiants ones, npcs with routine all over the world, a world thats react to the player and even to itself) and do it much better than you. And not only this, but we will do this in an urban environments better than GTAs and with an improved Watch Dogs hacks system" and now, even with the mechanics that were cut off to the laungh, Cyberpunk prove that is not for anyone make a RPG game like Bethesda's (Fallout 76 can even be) and why R* still with the best action sand box games. Unfortunately CD was defeated by its own ego.
I like how in most of their ads they show the asian brothel entrance lady, while in game she has like three lines and is never interacted with outside of that mission. Infact most characters on these post launch ads have characters in them without any significance. Almost like they want to bait people into thinking they are fleshing out characters with their Bugfixes or something.

Honestly, i think they just put zero work into the handcannon mod...if you just shot at them or threw a grenade they are programmed to respond but the variables for the cannon are fucked. I think they probably just last minuted that thing, same for Monowire.
My thoughts on the update: “That was an improvement, but it's not hard to improve on garbage." Captain John Price. On one hand it’s great to see that cdpr haven’t given up on this game and are willing to fix it. But on the other hand not only should these have been in the game since day one, but also it took them way too long to implement the new features, I’m not saying they should’ve rushed them and have the new content be half baked but while I want this game to succeed, I feel like the damage has already been done. From now on if a game releases in a broken state I’m not coming back to it, if the game is broken they had their chance. We have to stop accepting half polished games and wait for them to be fixed later. Sorry for long rant I’ve just got nobody to talk to about this lmao.
I think the idea of "not coming back to it" is kind of ridiculous. Don't buy games before launch, and you'll know it's broken, and don't buy it till it's fixed. Done. I think you should SUPPORT fixed games...only ONCE they are fixed. That's the only way you change behavior. Just stone cold dropping any title with a broken launch and not even picking it up when it's fixed just makes devs think you don't like that style of game in the first place.
I'm glad they eventually released the update because it does look great on the PS5. Unfortunately, the game still looks like its a: Go to place, hack everyone or shoot everyone, complete quest. I loved the game but man, I feel bad for Mike Pondsmith, because they really trashed his dream. In other news, No Man's Sky got another update, and the game is nowhere near what it was on release.

I think this is main reason I actually kinda rate game high. After my experiences with Molyneux, fable and hype, i never looked at any of cdprojects hype or promises over the years. Thanks to this i had no real expectations and to me it feels like a flawed gem of which i’m not sure what the possibilities are towards improvement. Personally i would have loved a 3rd person view but there are moments in the game i get why it forces a 1st person view.

I use ricochets with perks and you can actually bank them around corners. It does turn out to be very useful if you're running an assault build. As for why Mr. Hands doesn't give a reward when you finish his gigs- likely because Pacifica is going to be a focus of future DLC. It's already underwhelming and they did nothing to fluff it up at all, which means they've gotta be planning something for the area at some point. Mr. Hands is likely your way in the door.

Tbh, only thing I've really noticed is yes, certain AI can dodge Kerenzikov... Other than that, haven't really noticed anything new or different. AI still T pose, loads of really silly floating AI/items bugs This game is still an unmitigated disaster and I'm genuinely astonished so many people are still going to bat saying it's one of the best games they've ever played...
I’ve been playing the actual PS5 version for around 8 hours and it’s a big improvement over how it was via BC. I can understand PC players not being impressed but new gen console players should be quite satisfied. It’s far from perfect but as an evolved/new gen Deus Ex, it certainly delivers IMO. Beautiful world, charming characters, compelling story, and satisfying combat. As far as open world games go, I’d much rather play 2077 over Watch Dogs, Saints Row, Elder Scrolls, or Far Cry. But different strokes for different folks.

For me the game has pretty much ironed out all of the immersion breaking bugs. I never set my expectations for the game so when I played it back in June, it was a very enjoyable because I didn’t get sucked into the hype. Something felt seriously off and the way that CDPR handled the marketing towards the launch I knew something was off. Moral of the story, stop getting hyped for these “morally perfect” companies. Just because they haven’t ever put a micro transaction in a game doesn’t mean anything. That’s not all it takes for a game to flop.
Outside of bugs, though, it was still...meh. Every aspect of it outside of the story was mediocre at best. Take out the story, and what gameplay element of the game is particularly unique or done really well? Nothing. It's entirely unimpressive. The world looks nice, but is shallow and empty and unimpressive. Lots of focus on cars but they barely actually matter and driving mechanics were, again, unimpressive. There are other games you might boot up just to experience satisfying shooting or traversal or blowing shit up, but Cyberpunk is just "serviceable" at best. It's all about the story, and even the story is disappointing when it lacks many real "RPG" elements, where choices matter. Or how your background is barely relevant. I like stories in games to be good, but if that's all you have, write a book.

Well, no matter your opinion on CP '77 or its new patch, there is one truth to the matter: *The most disappointing game of all time is Duke Nukem Forever.* But reactions to Cyberpunk '77 from players who feel that it fails as a role playing game can make a compelling case in favour of it being the most disappointing. Besides, we already have a great First-Person cyberpunk RPG: The original Deus Ex trilogy.
@@NebLleb IW wasn't completely shitty but it was kinda bland and probably needed another year in production to get into better and more stable state. That being said there were bits in pieces in that game that showed some promise especially in the first hub area.
I think united we stand was bugged in 1.3 or something because I had it one shotting everything no matter what the enemy level was. In any case, I'm fine with them nerfing crit, but it really seems like going the route of reflexes/body is still not great. Shotguns seem to do some more damage now, so that might be nice, but yeah smgs and ars are still terrible and pistols feel a lot worse with the nerf to headshot damage and crit.
Redownloaded the game to try out the 60fps and new features they added, enjoyed the drive all the way to V's apartment, got to the computer where you purchase the new apartments and i couldnt access it. Apparently i was in a phone call. 70 Hour Playthrough rendered useless because i cant interact with anything. Ridiculous as fuck and theres no way in hell im starting a new playthrough with Horizon and Elden ring dropping these next two weeks

Until they do not give the game a 'blood and wine' like DLC for free, I will not come back. Replay value is shit. Player choices do not matter. gigs are repetitive. Perks are still mostly trash, as you noted. The only interesting part of the game was the main quest and some of the side characters...but I already know that.
No matter how many updates or patches, this game will always be a failure!! Its reputation has diluted any reason to play this just for the sake of curiosity. In fact, there's no reason to even discuss this game any further!!
I played and enjoyed the game when it first released. I enjoyed it, then they "fixed" it and it became a hot mess for almost a year. Now this patch has come out and it is much much better. That said I am a PC player and can't speak to the consoles. For the first time in a long time I am enjoying Cyberpunk 2077 again.

The state of gaming has drove me back in time . Playing castlevania on my ps5 is the equivalent of cooking a potato in said time mechine and i love it
Spider-Man PS4, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Horizon: Forbiden West, God of War, Demon’s Souls, Returnal, Ratchet and Clank, Ghost of Tsushima, Resident evil village, Deathloop, Hitman 3, Guardians of the Galaxy, Dying light 2… All games that came out within the past couple of years, all excellent. Yeah some big titles launch in questionable states, but come on. I’m sick of people acting like no good games are being made anymore when it’s simply not true.

I've played this game since day one. Currently have about 190 hours spent on it and I must say something that's not so popular: this is not the RPG that "people" wanted and it's supposed to be like this. Period. Bear in mind that I don't want to make any excuses for CDPR aside from, probably, cutting the actual devs some slack. I got this game as a birthday gift from a friend so I also don't have buyers remorse playing a hand here. As far as I've seen in these 14 months, most complaints outside of performance/bugs are related to either minor cut content (like vehicle customization, which is something that must be added at some point but it's not game breaking as some will make you believe) or literally coments boiling down to "it's not the story I wanted so it sucks". For all this time I've been into the whole need for a barber of sorts in the game, now they have finally added this and people will still complain that you don't actually have to seek a barber to change your style. I get that some people want RPGs as real life sims but CP77 is clearly more story driven and less open ended and because of that I don't see how a relaunch aimed at being more RPG-esque would do this game any particular good, but I'd at least want to see some extra content tied to it. People will often mention The Witcher 3 and forget that that game was also heavily story driven. I've read somewhere that CDPR said something about cutting some of the Jackie/V relationship related content (packed into that intro montage) fearing that the game would prove to be too tiresome for players and that is just complete nonsense because any RPG player will gladly spend over 1000 hours in a game without even finishing it (I know a couple of friends who put over 1k hours in Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim, for example, though the latter was due to heavy modding). My biggest gripe with the game is this and only this. I'm able to get to the endgame, albeit underleveled, in about 20 to 30 hours. Give us, the players, 20 to 30 hours of content leading up to the Relic heist job and then the "time bomb" content we already have, I'd be happy with that and I assume some other people would also be (not to mention some major dissonance like V not knowing who Rogue was, even after 6 months in NC, or literally Padre Ibarra introducing himself to V even tho we saw him during the montage).
The reason most people didn't like it wasn't because of the story or mechanics, it was because of broken the game was. Even with all these updates it's still just ok, imo the Deus Ex games are still the go to for a good cyberpunk game with rpg elements
Imagine if Reflections had released a patch for Driv3r after all this time lol. That's about how I see this patch. Apart from the fact that it's too late, the game is broken in a fundamental way, and no patches will be able to completely fix this game, unfortunately. You can't fix that only 2% of the dialogue lines in Cyberpunk 2077 affect the final plot just by releasing a patch, for example. To fix this and to make the game more non-linear, you will need to rewrite the original script, so you can't just fix it with an update or something.
Thx homie for this breakdown, I was looking for something easy to digest about that latest patch since there ppl talked about it on social media plenty for some reason. Edit: they finally implemented the drivers' AI? What, after more than a year after the game's release. Holy fuck, maybe they will overhaul crafting and give us consequences for player actions in quests. I guess we'll have to wait for that in the 2.0 version of the game in the next 12-18 months
Consequences remark is kinda weird cause even in sidequests actions can have consequences. If it is with regards to certain bigger quests i agree with regards to the railroading they force on us at times
Game still feels awful on console, or at least on my series s. Game needs another round of optimization but its problems are at the core of its design. Huge disappointment.
My take on the game is it's interesting but deeply flawed Eurojank. Kind of in the same category as the Stalker games. I don't think CD Projekt will ever really finish it. Maybe 4-5 years from now there will be a group of mods that will give a "finished" experience.
Stalker was better for me in a way it immerses you into the game no matter how janky it was. The mods where just supplements. At some respect that game had influenced other games as well. Probably in the next 5 or 10 years , cyberpunk would be modded in a way how stalker anomaly existed.
While i do agree that its nothing mind blowing im hoping that this is simply the first of many steps in the right direction, if the next updates are like this then they might turn the game into something special.
Hearing the deux ex soundtrack at the end of the video makes me wonder melancholically what this game could have been if it caught the deux ex human revolution dark's vibe and actually gave us the cyberpunk/dark future experience we deserved. Shame.
CDPR could completely overhaul the game at this point and I wouldn't care. They lied about this game for years, deliberately misled their own customers. Adding some polish to their product doesn't fix that.
Personally, the biggest disappointment so far was Act 3 and no matter how many patches they add they’ll never be able to fix that. How a game ends and how satisfying the story is plays a huge role in how in whether you return to it. Sometimes a story is so satisfying no returns are needed at least in the short-term(like maybe you’ll play it again in a year or two) and other times a game is so satisfying that you want to play it over and over again(I’ll never get bored/tired of playing Fallout New Vegas). But unfortunately every now and then there are times where a games ending is so dissatisfying that you don’t want to return or rather sometimes you feel you’ve experienced all a game has to offer and don’t feel the need or urgency to return(I chose what was widely considered to be the best ending which was the one with Panam and it still felt flat as hell…[potential spoiler ahead] I did enjoy the end where they left Night City though, I thought that was refreshing but otherwise the entire last mission honestly didn’t do anything for me). The only thing this mega update is offering is, smoother textures, smoother driving, smoother mechanics, a few skill tree updates, new apartments that still aren’t interactive 🤦🏾♂️ , and eliminating a lot of bugs. I personally don’t think that’s enough to return to the game. A new fixer, an expanded map, a new set of missions, and a new ending would be MORE THAN ENOUGH to return back to the game. Also I felt Cyberpunk had some loose ends, remember that mission where [potential spoilers ahead] there was a underground scheme of mega corpo families getting their personalities altered and we were never able to continue that story line? Yeah there are a few story lines in Cyberpunk that were cut too short. My overall thoughts, I bought this game 10 months after it had released and was severally disappointed in the state of it, pretty all this update does is make Cyberpunk a playable game nothing more nothing less. Until they add meaningful content I don’t see the need to return.
TLDR; it would have taken a real effort for CDPR to entice me back into playing this game, all they did was just make it playable but they haven’t actually done anything to convince me it’s worth playing again.
@Rorisang Pitwsane yeah, I preordered the game on ps4pro. even though my game crashed more than I'd like, I was able to finish it twice. the only reason I played it a second time was because I thought the life paths would be different and I wanted to try a different ending which none of that was worth it. after that I haven't really touched the game, only to see how the various patches changed the game. even after this 1.5 patch I don't see any real reason to play it again. there's still not much to do outside of missions. They still have a way to go for me to invest time into cyberpunk2077 again.
I haven't been paying much attention to Cyberpunk mostly because I don't give a shit about that game anymore. Thankfully, I used my refund money to get RE 4 and a few Yakuza games on sale.
Im playing the update, there are a few issues, but havent run into any bugs or crashes which is what held me back personally. Having a good bit of fun in it, but Im not the most critical person in the world.
I'm loving it. First time playing it on ps5 and it's fun. My only regret is maybe I should've gotten it on pc. But it's been fun for sure. When I get bored with it I switch to sifu lol
People need to stop forgiving game devs by buying their products after they have been "fixed". They released a broken dumpster fire. I don't care that they made it good later. By doing so, you are sending a clear message- Do it again!

@@exysa2798 Witcher 3 had bad A.I? They seemed fine to me as the game is melee based and they generally swarmed you in groups, but in 2-3 would swing at different times to evade your dodged and such. They seemed fairly smart for 15th century peasantry lol. But I digress CDPR has the experience and the know how to make a good game, Witcher 3 was a shitshow until blood and wine came out too, as much as I hate games releasing broken and think it's malpractice at this rate. I atleast know given enough time They can make something really good here. In 5 fucking years lmao
Honestly, I liked the gameplay and sidequests a lot better than the main plot. I did not like Johnny Silverhand or his character arc, and him being in your head the whole time and your character pretty much always having a bad ending made me not want to finish it over and over again because it was so depressing. Some of the sidemissions were a lot more engaging, like the judy subplot.
