Recently started playing again. Didn’t even know the sandy was in the fuckin game cuz of how shit it was before. Now I run around at the speed of sound with nothing but a katana and my bare fucking (gorilla) hands. And Rebecca’s shotgun for emergencies. I highly recommend hard mode if you haven’t played yet. Makes the power fantasy so much better. One mistake and you flatline tho.
@@cybronikai1957 In Valentino tradition dying while doing a job or defending your family and choombas makes you a saint and the gang will spray a big graffiti in the area as a form of respect and remembering the chads that used to live amongst them. It's one of the highest forms of respect a Valentino can earn by my knowledge.
- Get a job from fixer to sneak into a place and retrieve sensitive documents - The documents are guarded by Valentinos - Stealth the entire thing flawlessly - "Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! Client's happy, I'm happy. Wiring you your eddies now". - Receive payment - Immediately go back to the mission zone and slaughter everyone just for the music Yeah. We happy.
@@MrBl4ckY Technically they can, they just can't do anything about it, since their bodies have better things to do then go on a wild goose chase for one measly merc.
Doing your first Gig in Valentino territory and then hearing this and finding out that they all have a red skull above them really gives you the „I'm fucked” feeling.
I forget which mission but you have to go into a club and retrieve a certain item. I was blasting through everything until this mission. I tried guns blazing and got dropped so hard lmao; hadn't needed to go stealth mode at all till this moment.
I'm currently working on clearing all the scanner hustles and gigs, and accidentally crossed the Westbrook-Heywood border while doing so. My usual M.O. is crashing my car into the enemies, jumping out into cover and mowing them down. Well, this time I jumped out and heard the part at 7:45 starting. I thought to myself 'oh no' and died that very second.
Fixer: "Hey V, I've got a new gig for you. I need this one handled discretely." V: "Aight what's the gig?" Fixer: "I need you to steal some sensitive intel from the Valentinos--" (V charges in guns blazing as combat music kicks in) Fixer: "Goddamit, V."
Even with the heavy synth and distortion it keeps elements of traditional latin rhythm. The off beat claps are similar to the traditional clave' pattern in latin music while hi-hat pattern in the background play what sounds like a ca'scara pattern. There's almost always a version of these two rhythms in latin music, and it works so well here keeping that traditional flavor within a dystopian futuristic setting. This song being a corrupt mockery of the purity of traditional latin music is symbolic of the corrupting factor of this horrific environment on the peoples within it; a Hispanic cybernetic terminator with a vestigial sense of culture out for blood. They have become the Chupacabra.
In my opinion the Valentinos has the best music theme, a mix between reggaeton and techno made almos entirely with synthesizers is such a rare mixture but a very good one
@@MistahJay7 imo the Valentinos theme is my favorite, my second favorite is The Rebel Path (theme that plays everytime you raid the Arasaka tower, with either V or Johnny on his flashbacks or controlling V's body), and my third favorite is Militech's combat theme
That is why I don't stealth when fighting the Valentinos. Straight lead to the face. Just to hear the song. The song that plays when sneaking and almost getting spotted just makes me want to get them on the alert stage to have the full song blasting.
I try to sneak around every spot they’re at, while hearing the first part of the tune. Gets you all pumped up, as the confrontation is inevitable. The music lets you know that.
When I’m hearing this, I can see half-cybernetic Hispanic dudes and chicks in lowriders (the beat/bass helps), flashing jewellery and guns, while staying close together, emoting this strong “you don’t wanna fuck with us” feeling. The theme perfectly “describes” the Valentinos. It’s the same feeling you get when roaming around The Haywood alleys low-level on Very Hard difficulty. You don’t wanna be there. Brilliant theme!
@@Vitnaval Here let me tell you! A quinceanera is a birthday party that is held for 15 year old girls to celebrate in the Hispanic/Mexican tradition of "coming of age." A time where they start to mature. Now quinceaneras are about partying more than tradition. Therefore, the music would tie into one of these parties in the year 2077! Always enjoying the music from this game :D
@@flowerthencrranger3854 As far as I am aware, this is a tradition in Mexico and "latin-america" geographical locations. I am unaware of the traditions there in Brazil. But if they are similar, it would not be surprising.
But then, a final bullet breaks through one of her ribs, narrowly missing her heart, scraping the surface of her right lung, and finally exiting through her back, splitting the same rib in three in the process. she collapses to the ground, unable to stand as her body grows more and more tired, barely having enough strength to keep her eyelids from shutting together like a heavy duty garage door And finally, as if she had returned home after a hard day at work, collapses onto the metaphorical couch with her hearing fading as a certain rockerboy spouts nonsense in her ear like "Cmon V, get up" or "Don't do this to me V, get up" her body grows more and more weak with each passing second, she takes one final look at the sky before her eyes close permanently, remembering all the good times she had with her friends and family, welling up with nostalgia And thus, after a long, bloody, and tiresome battle, the infamous cyberwarrior known by the alias "V" has been slain, finally getting some well deserved rest, lying in a pool of her own blood, free from the affects, as well as the constant nagging, of the relic, as the gates of Valhalla open up before her eyes with it's inhabitants welcoming her with open arms in a friendly, almost gleeful manner, as if a great warrior with an even greater reputation had just walked through their halls. But then, she remembers the implant Viktor Vektor had installed in her circulatory system, a secondary heart as they call it, putting the fight back in her body, yet again. "Aw fuck" V mutters under her breath, disappointed at the fact that she had come so close to reuniting with her precious friend, Jackie and the somehow sentient gun, Skippy just to have her chance foiled by in her words, "a stupid implant".
This game has a payday 2 dilemma. If you stealth it you get double the reward and less trouble but you don’t get to hear this banger. My advice? Have a save on you *Because the enemies sure ain’t gonna have one when you’re done with them.*
7:38 >Me realizing I accidentally selected "Overheat" instead of "Ping" and that the second I pull out of the scan mode it's fight time... Fuck It, We Ball
The valentino's combat theme always creeped me out with how the sound effects sound. They were spine chilling imo, and also add how strong they were. This gang always scared me.
well you're not the only one lol, I start moving V's head up and down synced to the song's rhythm holding my Malorian Arms 3516 while every valentino in the area is trying to bun me down
I never fought any valentinos or even ran into them in my first playthrough. On a second playthrough after 2.0 i thought it was a whole new gang because this song fucking rocks
How did it take me this long to find this version on RU-vid??? I've been looking for this longer, slow-build version of the Valentinos Theme and this is perfect. Thank you!!!
well, the in-game music is dynamic... it transitions between the various sections seamlessly depending on what you do, all while staying in tempo. so there are no definite versions of any of the music, really.
Hispanic music comes partly from Spain. And Spain had been occupied by arabic "moros" for a long period. So, that's why it can sound middle eastern sometimes as spanish music was influenced by it. Here's an example of perfect mix between spanish and arabic music : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TmAycRXjVM0.html Edit : ffs, who am I answering to ? ^^
@@thechilledonion9313 I was wondering that lol, I was always like, Why is Hispanic music is so close to middle eastern music, especially Arabic, Thanks for the info
7:35 The soundtrack that plays when coming back home in my motorbike, but another motorbike starts chasing me before arriving (yes, i live in south america)
YUSS I found it! I love this piece so damn much. Best random combat theme in the game. Pretty sure I've only encountered it once... I guess I didn't do much fighting with the Valentinos
@@stahu_mishima yeah, some gangs are just, you know, cool and have origin stories that are even quite inspiring. Not all of them are like maelstrom weirdos who fuck their car exhaust or something like that.
