Why advertise trains if they don't exist in the game?! Why show a character jumping on the train (which doesn't exist) if you can't do it in the game?! False advertisement is a CRIME
@@sofiaanx Reed Has to die. He's a gov't blind dog. Somi and Alex does not deserve to die they want to live and leave their past behind. Well same with our V, that is why we need to fight for our life another day.
After playing Phantom Liberty, I realized something pretty wild. The ending of the trailer in Space Force 1 actually weaves into the game's story. So Mi is looking into space and isn't responsive to Myers presumably because she is talking to us via the relic as we progress through the story, because we witness the missiles get launched on the ground while So Mi is with us. Pretty amazing detail.
But listen to what Myers is saying to her, She offers So Mi a pill to sleep because the flight was going to be long, which leads me to believe Songbird lied to us about another thing. Myers had no idea what was going on until after the plane was hit by a missile. So MI made it sound like the plane was hacked and out of control and even talked about Myers wishing V luck and all this talk about her composure. She was making it all up. Which makes sense why Myers doesn't really understand who you are when you first meet her.
@Mario-xf7yg yeah did you? Literally everything she lied to you about she eventually comes clean on but that doesnt change the fact that she lied to manipulate and use you to begin with. What's your point?
@@SevenPr1me the fact that Myers didn't know what was happening on the SpaceForce or that So Mi is manipulating you from the beginning, the game makes it quite clear, so it's weird that you didn't noticed this until rewatching this trailer
Watching this again after beating Phantom Liberty. So Mi’s brief moment of forgetting her and Reed’s time at that taco stand takes on a whole new meaning. Before it seemed like she was just distracted by the task at hand, but now it’s clear she genuinely did forget thanks to the mental toll her Blackwall tech takes on her. Which in turn makes Reed’s following comment about her needing a break make even more sense.
Nah, definitely more the mental distress of betraying the person who is most important to her. She would probably have a million thoughts going through her head and can't really think clearly.
@@DanteRU0312 Are you replying to me or referring to me? I played through it twice and did all endings. This trailer takes place 7 years prior to Phantom Liberty. At this point So Mi hadn't been messing with the Blackwall yet.
I just finished Phantom Liberty and I just wanna say to CDPR, whatever you do please don't vibe-shift from what you did in 2077. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is a straight up masterpiece.
@@tsfcoral1864 If you speed through it and only do the main quest, probably like 5-8 hours. On my playthrough I probably threw 30-40 hours at Phantom Liberty content and that was without doing everything.
@@tsfcoral1864Long AF. A full game pretty much. It occurs in a section of the map that’s shut off from the rest, so you pretty much forget the rest of the game exists while you play phantom liberty. It could literally be a standalone game
@@tsfcoral1864 20-30 hours just the main story at a decent pace. Most of it happens in Dogtown, new area, but there are also missions outside of it. Both endings are outside of Dogtown, for instance.
Yeah, usually a scene like that would end either Idris Elba beating them and then going for revenge or get beaten and either shot under black screen or w.e. Now you see him just getting overran by too many people and getting shot. The unreal thing is he's still alive lol.
I've said it for so many years. If we could get entire shows or movies with cinematics of this quality, or stuff like SWTOR's trailers and Halo 2:A's cutscenes, it would be a new generation of video game adaptations, and it'd look like perfection.
@@GrimGearheart I really wish it was. Rather, I hope it will eventually be, with the right advancements in the tech to make it easier and cheaper. I am completely convinced that this could be the future of CG media, in larger projects and full-on production. Hell, it doesn't even have to be this graphically intense. Overwatch's cinematics are another perfect example, with significantly less realism.
@@bcbitchkkv nah so mi was doing blackwall shit since before she worked for the nusa, it's why she got recruited. She was already losing her memories before we see her so she just forgot that she showed him the taco stand in the first place
@@bcbitchkkv nah, blackwall erases her memories. She did told V that she's afraid of losing all of her own memories due to constant contact with the blackwall.
I skipped the trailer thinking it would just be a spoiler fest. Imagine my surprise watching this, after finishing PL, and learning that it actually adds more context into the experience. Great work CD
2:05 so much emotion in those eyes. We can see the betrayal, sadness and anger in that short time window before he has to face the inevitable. I hope this franchise never loses its artistic touch.
I wouldn't say there's so much emotion there, you definitely could've like made Idris emote differently, and more dynamically, but I'm not hating on it, I don't think it's bad.
@@GabriGlider They will, he said "Building this FRANCHISE up"; they confirmed that they are working on a new cyberpunk game; project orion, so his comment is still relevant
This trailer is absolutely incredible. He sees the gun and realizes that it will be a problem. At 1:56 he calls to his dear person for help (he even says "we" as a team). At 1:59 that nervous deep breath he takes says so much, although he knows he can handle himself he realizes he's in trouble. And then finally understands the betrayal and that he's alone in this. These small details are insane.
Not really small details, entire point of the trailer. Also how she was "out of it" with the taco place, not even remembering she knows it, because she was so focused on executing the betrayal. Literally everything they say is a potential foreshadowing : 1. "This is it. Do you trust me?" - "You know I do." - she knows he will do as she says. 2. "So Mi, I'm right where you wanted me." - she lured him into the trap. 3. "Nobody on you, I just cut surveillance cams." - she has full control over the train. 4. "What about you? Got ticket out yet?" - "I hear the government is sealing a deal." - he is the deal, killing him was her ticket out. 5. "You're gonna walk out of this on a red carpet." - literally a private jet with the president. And she is sporting cool mechanical hands.
its details nothing small about it, everyone went through this in their time line, some made it out and some died just like Reed but he survived for some odd reason
“I wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for you” amazing how the same statement in a different context transformed from words of gratitude into something so chilling because he is after her. What an amazing trailer!
Cyberpunk 2077's got a decent story and setting, but unfortunately Mike Pondsmith has no mind for geopolitics. It's literally impossible for Japan/Japanese to be so powerful in any scenario even resembling reality. The USA would NEVER let one of it's slaves supplant it in such a manner, and would deliver another round of nukings far before Japan/Japanese got to the level they are in the lore...case in point, the "Plaza Accord" with a gun to Japan's head, Japan is now what in its 4th "lost decade"??...😆 Just takes you out of the immersion, like North Korea conquering the world in the Red Dawn remake. More closer to reality, Militech or a Chinese corp. like Kang Tao should take the place of Arasaka...🤔
so glad i decided to buy cyberpunk day 1 instead of pirating it for free because i wanted to support the company and they promised us all dlc's will be free and add lots of new stuff and here i stay looking at the 30$ new dlc first dlc in 2 years btw and they promised we would have like 5 by now but hey , time to fking pirate the game to play the dlc when i have the game on steam yay
1:03 “ I wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for you” 3:14 “I wouldn’t be ALIVE if it wasn’t for YOU” god those two statements mean so much more it’s chilling
Damnnnn I’m glad I didn’t watch this when it came out, just finished the DLC, and realized that was the train job where Reed gets “buried” and “killed” like they explain throughout the story for phantom liberty. Such an awesome expansion, I got chills at the end of it all. Thank you CDPR for making such an unforgettable game.
Yeah. The fact that you can see that the memory loss has already started (she forgets the taco place at 1:25) from working beyond the Blackwall. How Reed forgives her for this (or at the least, justifies it in his head) still surprises the hell out of me.
Songbird doesn't deserve even an ounce of sympathy, honestly. Absolutely nothing throughout the whole DLC indicates that she is a person worthy of saving.
1:46 the hesitation, the muscle twitch, and I swear her eyes were tearing up here. You could feel the weight of her final key input. Goodness- the subtle animation in this trailer is out of this world.
I like how it was a pairing of two very distinct and contrasting types of acting to tell one story. One side is stonefaced, trying hard to keep it together, conveying profound thought and emotion with the tiniest of expressions; the other side openly emotive, going from relaxed, to concerned, to disbelief, to deep sadness, and then to anger. It's great stuff.
She was already starting to show emotion over what she's about to do at 1:20. That smile wasn't an act for him since he can't see her, his comment really brought a smile to her face but then she knows she's about to betray him... It's actually kind of sad.
Man... that was brutal to watch. Probably the most realistic depiction of how a skilled person wouldn't be able to overcome those numbers. He was just overwhelmed. Very cool... and brutal, again. Dope!
@@snikerdoodles856 "They" because V can be both male or female depending on the player's choice. Also, what are you talking about? The Relic doesn't increase durability or whatnot. Sure in this update it will add abilities but it won't make V any less vulnerable as other cyberware in-universe.
The Expansion is so great. I love it. It was a blast to play through. CD Project Red didn't just manage to save Cyberpunk 2077 but make it even better than ever.
Quick explanation for the uninformed, this is the deal Reed spoke of. Where Arasaka "got to him" for peace. If you pay attention So Mi actually tears up when Reed calls if she is there. She was his friend but she had to follow orders and complete the terms of the plan for the ceasefire to go through. That's how he "died" for the cause and came back. Why he ended up in the ICU before going MIA.
I know it sounds like a crazy detail to focus on, but the animation on her hands typing when we first see them looked beyond-photo-real, CGI has genuinely almost reached a live-action level. Very excited to see where this story goes, looks like another emotional one.
@@jaylenjames364 I can only assume but I guess they did full body motion tracking for this. So animation-wise, they have the real-world motion data which makes it look as realistic as it is.
I love how the words " I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for you" at the end now implies that the one thing that pushed him to come back from the brink of death was his hatred and need for revenge against her
Just finished Phantom Liberty and got done watching the entire credits speechless, This is the greatest expansion to any game I’ve ever played it’s phenomenal.
Dude, seeing the emotions of Reed is just insane. He feels like something is wrong and doesn't need words to portray it. CDPR seriously hit it out of the ballpark with Phantom Liberty.
10 years, maybe. But the industry hasn't progressed at all in terms of graphics. Name one game with better landscapes than RDR 2 ? Name one game with better facial animations than TLOU 2 ?
@@maskassmario321 We're hitting a wall in the hardware department. Making smaller and more powerful pc parts is getting harder and harder because there's only so much we can do to optimize the current technology. Getting a game to render this in real time would be a monumental feat.
The uncanny valley doesn't really appear if you know it's all animated. When your watching something with real actors and then a fully cg character shows up you can immediately tell
Just had a rough start in the media, still crazy how PL was even a nominee in the Game of the Year awards winning best ongoing against Fortnite, on top of best expansion for another game awards host
The 1st Resident evil was like that. The music would give you an idea what may be in the other side of a door and left me too scared to enter sometimes.
I love the detail @1:20 when they're talking about the quesadillas place. So Mi gives a boilerplate answer because she's completely distracted by the thought of what she's about to do. Reed looks confused, as if there's a hundred thoughts a second going through his mind (a netrunner of So Mi's calibre should definitely have remembered after all!). You can tell the exact moment when he decides she must simply be overworked... Idris Elba and the animators absolutely knocked it out of the park with how subtle yet telling his micro expressions were during that short exchange. I also adore the writers for making the dialogue natural and trusting us to read between the lines.
I can't stop being amazed how this fanbase doesn't even have to speak, it's like we're all wired to the same netrunning frequency, and everything we feel/observe/see we do in unison, and there's always at least one of us who will write it out for the rest of us to violently nodding the head and yelling out loud "YES! YES! TOTALLY" 🤩💛 The release cannot come sooner, this is gonna be a-mazing, another 700+ hours here I come!
We need more, I hope the developers do not stop making content for cyberpunk 2077 ,love the lore and the characters. I would love to have a sequel based on MaxTac corpo
Sequel has been confirmed and a new Boston CDPR office has already been confirmed to work on that. But yeah, hopefully we get more Cyberpunk 2077 content during the wait for the sequel.
This will be the first and last expansion for this game. They'll probably do some minor patches in the future, but this is really it. As said though, a sequel was announced a year ago, currently called "Project Orion" internally at CDPR. It will be made using Unreal Engine 5 but that's about all we know.
Bro this trailer has SO MUCH detail in it that connects to the overall story. Especially So Mi forgetting the Taco Place she took Reed to. It means that here time behind the Blackwall is consuming her mind. Watching it after PL feels like a prequel short movie.

After finishing the DLC I now realize, that the fact that Song forgot that she was the one showing the Taco stand to reed probably wasnt because she was feeling bad for what she was about to do. But because she literally forgot. Because the Blackwall took that memory from her.
Just got to the point in the DLC where they talk about the moment this trailer happened. Love that cd puts lines of dialogue in the game that references the trailers, like the time Lambert mentioned Geralts killing monsters trailer.
I tip my hat to CDPR. They pulled it off. From becoming a meme to finishing what they started. The dedication to Cyberpunk, the game and the genre, is like a lovestory.
They didnt finish anything. The game is still a shell of what was promised. And the systematic problems that are baked into the very core mechanics of the game are still there. Shills are gonna shill though.
I rarely care about CGI trailers but this one was amazingly well done. Setting up the story and characters like this was so interesting, it wasn't just some bombastic marvel style combat scene, but actually something with feeling behind it.
