Cyberpunk 2077's Most Disturbing Quest 

I had a difficult time taking the right decisions to get to the end, I had to Google some of the answers. Awesome quest tho, didn't expected Johnny's reaction

This quest was fun, random, no damn clue where it was going.... And then horror kicked in... Yeah, that quest will indeed have a place in my brain.

My wife could not sit through this one

"I want you to crucify me" Me: "Sounds too complicated" _pulls out overture_

This is so random but cool, weird to think how so many people just will never see it despite having played the game

That whole side quest is just such a downward spiral that never gets better. The way the corpos treat him, how it's televised, and how he genuinely believes this is the way to bring the world out of the dark future of 2077, just makes you feel uncomfortable in your own skin.

I’m a religious man myself. Needless to say, this mission hit me like a truck. To see something so integral to my view of the world and my place in it be exploited by the corps for entertainment, all while taking advantage of a clearly mentally unstable man in need of help…it just hurt. It hit so uncomfortably close to home, and was the closest the game got to addressing me directly. And that’s why it’s my favorite quest in the game.

Rivers quest to find his nephew is also pretty up there in terms of being disturbing

When you get to the end the mission it won’t even let you go into photo mode to capture him being crucified.

when I realized I didn't finish the quest properly I went back to a previous save... and boy oh boy

This was one of three of the heaviest quests I've ever played, all in the same game in one day, along with Kerry's quest "Off the Leash" and Judy leaving Night City. I've never had so much of a real depressing feel in a game, and quest after quest Cyberpunk just sold it with the hard hitters, love the game.

I was just like... "Nope" the second I saw that he casually walks into the house of someone he murdered and casually ask for forgiveness. Even his debates are f up.

The mission is call: there is a light that never goes out, for anyone wondering.

Edgefield farm was more disturbing. For anyone who wants to know where the quest is, it's apart of a side characters storyline.

You actually see ads around NC for 'The Passion'. I thought it was quaint that even in the dark world of Cyberpunk they were making a movie about Jesus Christ. Imagine my horror when I realized the truth. I still went through with the quest and felt devastated when Joshua died after nailing him to the cross. It all felt so surreal to me.

Ngl first time, i had absolutely no clue wtf was going on, the guy that hires you jsut gets shot if you follow him. Then when stuff starts making sense its horrifying, especially when you start making realizations that someone who clearly used to be a bad person changes and asks for forgiveness, and becomes mentally unwell, and in the end, people take advantage of him for profit. Needless to say i went out of my way on the second playthrough to keep the inital client alive and took care of everyone else involved, though it was somewhat hard for me to do so considering everything i would have learned about the quest up until that point. But even after the end of what was "supposed" to happen, it still brings up a very good point when you talk to wakako. Essentially at the end of it all, it brings up a very good point, that everyone you talk to and see has their own lives, and their own problems that they are tryimg to deal with. Not only that but it really solidifies, in the game, that there are smaller stories happening around you, and that the developers clearly went out of their way to really work on the immirsiveness. Its unfortunate that they ended up not having enough time to properly finish the game in the end, but hopefully we can see what could have been whem phantom liberty comes out.

I really appreciated that the game gives you no indication which random gigs will spiral into full-blown ethical conundrums. There were so many gigs, some of them were extremely straightforward, while others had love and care put into their writing. This was a good design choice, as the interesting ones come out of nowhere.

I actually did this guest, it was shocking. I could imagine the pain he went through. 😬😖

I liked they touched this theme, in the future people still have hope but its an illusion by the media

I played the quest and for the love of God my first reaction was just silence and staring in awe, this quest was really well written

It’s kinda heart wrenching cause we as players are so used to trekking night city killing Gangoons and Corpo Thugs that get in our way. Meanwhile this guy just makes us stop feel the weight that this isn’t some simple street war it’s a martyr

The most terrifying quest is the one witv river and anthony

Cyberpunk like red dead 2 has some really weird out of no where fucking mini stories that are really cool to see unfold.

sinnerman was probably one of my favorite quests, it makes you feel so many different emotions and it makes you make some actually hard choices, and I had to immediately lay down and go to bed after finishing it.

Man i dont mind violence in games but this one was something else

To be honest I like this mission it was very unique shocked me confused me but made me question a lot of things in life

I hate this quest because it’s the only time they question wether the chip inside your head is the real Johnny or if he’s just a machine that thinks he’s Johnny and the real one is actually in the the afterlife. (Not the bar lol)

It is easy to miss. And I straight up ignored it. Couldn't stand the vibes I was getting from any of these people. I choose to walk away.

River Ward's The Hunt sidequest, and Joshua Stephenson's Sinnerman & They won't Go when I Go; are two of the most impactful sidequests in this game imo.

My game is so bugged out side missions I’ve completed are still in my uncompleted journal, Judy has just disappeared so can’t complete her quests and nothing to do with phones works

Nah the most disturbing one is River’s questline, finding teen boys strapped to a machine like a cow

This was the quest that really hit me hard, craziest thing is it starts like any other small gig. I love this game

What would be crazy is if you can actually relive the moment as a BD in game after everything is finished in the story line or another cyberpunk game in the future

This quest disturbed me to the core. I had to take a few minutes to just kinda process what just happened. The music made it so much more impactful

So far the randomness of this quest make it to the most touching quest.

I'm glad that my game audio glitched in the second half of the job so I didn't really have to hear anything but the dialog

I remember my first time playing this quest, sheer curiosity pushed me through and eventually I got to the end, I never had expected the crucifixion to be carried out nevertheless for the guy to want me to carry out the act, I had to take a moment to take in the sheer disgust and shock at what had happened. 10/10 dark as hell and definitely what they wanted to get across

I thought it was wholesome in a way that he wanted to say sorry of all the things he did and in the end showed he was truly sorry even if it was a little bit of a horror movie

Not only that, but this quest has one of the most surreal music playing in the background that would just keep you on the edge of your seat till V walks out. Man easily one of my fav quests.

Imagine day 1 players getting this at first try and are confused the f*** out of what was happening. Yeah, that, and Ozob Bozo having a f***ing grenade attached to his nose is one of the most confusing things we won’t even understand even if it’s explained.

Lady V superior voice but it was hella weird quest. I’d love to know what their thinking was 😂

As someone who is of Catholic faith this was definitely one of the most emotional quests in the game for me.

I personally think the river ward missions were more disturbing but I'm never forgetting sinnerman

It was nice to see something like that put into this game, even tho I felt bad that the main client got rekt. "My" V doesn't fail their clients lol so it felt bad or that reason, but the actual side quest itself was fun for me and I got to feel what it was like to crucify a mentally unstable criminal

Little late to the party as I’ve just bought the game, so far the game has been awesome. I’ve done a lot of side quest and this one plus the farm one with Anthony Harris has to be the most deepest and unsettling quest so far.

IMO that doesnt even come close to *The Hunt* quest. It was a quest with the vibe of *True Detective Season 1* Same fked creepy feeling all over it.

This one is right up there with the one involving the serial kidnapper, peterpan

Even though he was a murderer, I kind of actually liked Joshua like when he dropped his guard in the restaurant and told you some of the things he liked to do in his free time. Like talking about the movie he really liked. Even though he had a mental illness, obviously, I really did think he was trying to change for the better.

I knew something was up with this quest when I reloaded my save to try and save the guy before he's shot. Took me 4 tries before I realized I just had to let him die

I did this quest and it was rollercoaster of crazy from confusion, disgust, curiosity and question the moral of the whole ordeal. Good stuff.

That’s not how you crucify someone… the legs should be stretched to slowly asphyxiate the person the knees shouldn’t be able to bend

This was my favorite quest because I love when people see their fuck-ups and change for the better

A side quest like this just makes me think that this world has potential to be a horror game. A lot of weird things are seen in this game and didn't get much focus.

I was able to get to the end on my own, and for my play through, it made sense my guy would do what this quest line has you do.

Vs voice actor really nailed it with the flat "i nail people to crosses pretty regularly" tone.

Play ready or not in the dark alone. One of the most creepy games

this quest was so confusing and weird, the ending was so eerie, and going back to the studio after the quest is even more eerie after knowing what had transpired, never ran out of a building so fast.

When I did this quest recently I felt like I choose the options that would respect this man in a weird way even after death

The thing that sucks about this mission is no matter what choice you make nothing changes except whether or not the BD company gets a payday. You dont feel better at any point and you can't talk anyone out of anything.

Scary enough, I was more curious about how far it would go, and yeah. It did get dark and a little odd to complete

I always read into the idea that the reason the game makes us feel so much about this is that one way or another, no matter how pacifist we play, V causes a ton of damage and harm to the people around them, they have done at least as much as he has in cumulative suffering, be it arasaka’s damage after the heist, the death of whichever character we go with in the end, the countless people we kill even if justly, and the amount they have stolen from people, be it as a corpo through their job, a street kid by living amongst the gangs, or nomad, who live off of klept goods, they know in the words they say they will be punished the same way, be it by whatever god they believe in or the same guilt and shame they see through the quest

In crucifixion the crucified person is usually moving up and down to breathe

I was cringing so hard when you had to move to the feet that would hurt so fucking bad not to mention it kind of makes you feel worse every time you hit the nail because every time It ask you to quit or keep going😭

There is a tradition in Philippines that the volunteer will be crucified, that looks hurt
