Thank you for doing your video, my wife and i just got ours today and i put it together myself. I am 76 and my wife is 75 years old, and like you said this virus has kept us home and we have put on some pounds we don't need.. i looked at 100's of these bikes and picked this one because of the price, which was number 1, and because of the shape of the handlebars which will let you do different styles of riding. So now we start going real slow at first and work our way up to the harder ones. Thanks again, great video.
Thanks for this video! I bought this bike and have been looking for a video just like this for assembly and review before I opened the package and you nailed it!
Nice video. I got this bike last summer and I really like it. I feel it is an overall good purchase. Pros: Effective Sturdy Smooth Cons: For assembly, the pedals were not right-tighty, lefty-loosey. Complete opposite from what I know. Comes with an extra break pad but no instructions on how to replace it when the time comes. Ride long enough and you get break dust on the forward stabilizer bar.
Hi thank you for stopping by and for the comment. I'm really liking the bike so far. Will be doing an update soon, but for the price of the bike, I'm very happy with it. If it had been one of the more expensive bikes, I wouldn't be as happy, but it's perfect for my current level of fitness and what I'm using it for. I hope yours treats you as well as this one is treating me and my family! Happy New Year.
My stationary bike arrived without the bolts. can you be so kind as to tell me the measurements of the screws or where I can easily order them, thanks for your video it's great
Now you have the bike for over 2 years, how is it so far? I am planning to get a bike but don't know if I should get that one? It looks super heavy, I saw it in Amazon, 104 lbs. 😵💫 how many full turns get you get from the resistance knobs? Is it true that you can get 100 (from 0 to 100) of resistance levels you can get from it? This one has a flywheel of 36 lbs, that is weird. most of the bike have 30, 35, 40, 45 lbs of flywheels, but this one has 36😅
That's very true. She's rarely amused at anything, but she did enjoy playing in the box for a while. Thank you for stopping by; hope your new year is going well.
Hello Martha, thanks for the message. I do indeed still have this bike and I've had no issues with it at all. I don't use it nearly as much as I used to; I've transitioned into running for the most part, so I'm usually either outside or using my treadmill. I have used it more recently as I had shoulder surgery in November and my surgeon says no running yet (too much impact). My thoughts on the bike haven't changed .... it's not a gym-quality bike and doesn't have a ton of options, but for a bit of home equipment that can get you a solid workout, it does the job. I've heard of some other users experiencing breakdowns, but I haven't had any problems.
What is that last piece for? I also bought this bike & realized it’s not mentioned in assembly. It’s still on the floor in your video at 5:04. It’s that little rectangular foam & black piece.
Hi Whitney. It took me a bit to spot what you were referring to. That foam/plastic piece is an extra resistance pad (brake?) that's used to generate resistance when you pedal. There is already one installed on the flywheel. I haven't needed to replace mine, yet so I'm not sure if it's easy or not.
Hi Jenni. I haven't noticed it on mine. I'm actually really pleased with how quiet the wheel spin is for me. There's a bit of a "brushing" sound as the wheel contacts the resistance pad, but that's it on mine. Anybody else here seeing the same issue?
Is the bike seat supposed to fit perfectly on the seat post? For the life of me I cannot fit the metal rod from the post inside of the bracket or whatever it is underneath the seat.
Hey Trent, I didn't have that problem. My seat went on without any difficulties. Were you able to make it work? Anyone else here have this issue and have some guidance?
Hey Bumblesquat, thanks for stopping by. I've got several hundred "miles" on the bike and it's still going strong. No complaints on my end. It's certainly basic and doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but it gets the job done. I've mostly transitioned to running and have used the bike for active rest days during my running training plan. It came in very handy when I spent about 6 weeks injured with plantar fasciitis, then a rotator cuff injury that made it painful to run. From a "getting into shape" perspective, absolutely it helped! I didn't lose much weight during the year (thanks to a crap diet), but my resting HR has reduced dramatically, my blood pressure is much better, and I completed my first half marathon last year. Overall, for the price, I really love this bike.
@@bgberkley excellent thanks Brent. I've put an order in. I was initially nervous as a few people had raised some issues with defective items. Great video and thanks for getting back to me. Karl (forgot about the nickname lol)
The wobble on mine was very slight if I tried to move them. They're fully stable when riding. I did put a small shim between the post and the riser which resolved the issue. Other reviews I've read have said some wobble slightly some don't. I think it's a manufacturing issue and related to the much lower cost of the bike as opposed to higher end bikes. It was a minor inconvenience for me. Have you got the bike too? If so, would love to know your thoughts. Thanks for the question and for stopping by. Happy New Year!
Hey, thanks for stopping by. I've been loving mine. Over 300 miles on it now and it's humming along nicely. I hope your assembly goes better than mine; but honestly, once I got it put together, it's been smooth riding.
@@bgberkley yeah man it was swift, I like to work on road bikes in my spare time so I even added a little grease to the nuts and bolts. The bike is actually for my mother, and she loves it :) stay safe look forward to more vids
Hi Kevin, thanks for stopping by. I would say "yes", the posts seem to be standard size, but I haven't tested it myself. Great idea though. Anybody else here swapped out their pedals on this bike?
Great to hear! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine. I've got pretty close to 100 miles on it already and it's really impressive (especially for the price). We had a bit of a squeak in the pedals develop after about 10 miles of use, but with a bit of WD40, it went away and is spinning away nice and smoothly. Enjoy the ride!
Hello Destiny; thank you for stopping by. Yes, you can stand on this bike. It's much more like a gym bike than a road bike as far as the feel when standing, but it's stable and I stand for about half of my rides.
Not really. You can hear the wheel spinning and if the resistance is set high, it's a bit louder. Overall, I find the wheel noise on mine to be pretty minimal.
@@bgberkley I just opened the bike and after a test it makes a swoosh sound from break pad. Didn’t know if normal, I am new to this. Thanks. Great video!
@@metscott Oh, I think I see what you're saying. Yes, mine does make a bit of a swoosh. That brake pad is designed to set the difficulty of the ride, so there will some soft "whooshing" sound. I thought you were asking about a more grinding type of a sound. Sorry for any confusion. I don't find it annoying, it's just part of the normal operation.
@@bgberkley Thanks again for quick response. I just wanted to make sure it was a normal thing. This is my first bike that doesn’t have magnets. Thanks so much.
Hi Johnny, thanks for stopping by. I'm just barely 5'9" and it's a great size for me. I'm not sure how it would be for you, but the seat riser has quite a bit of movement, I've only got mine about halfway up, so I think it would be ok. Unfortunately, I don't know if there is any place that stocks them in a store for you to try out. Anybody else that's over 6' have experience with this bike?
Hey Brent! May I ask how your Cyclace is doing? I just bought one of these for myself and I'm looking into the long term reviews of the item, is yours still working fine? Thank you.
Hey Michael, thanks for the question. It's still going strong with no real issues. We've put close to 400 "miles" on it without issues. One of the pedals squeaked for a bit, but some oil stopped that with no problem. I'm planning an updated review soon when I find time to film it. Overall, I'm really pleased with it. Great bike for the price.
@@Irenebrown1727 Wow! I got mine from Amazon, not sure if the company makes different models at different prices, but I thought it was a pretty good deal.
@@bgberkley I'm still looking for an indoor bike. They've inflated the prices here in England. I like the Echelon Connect Sport bike. It's $500 in the US but £800 ($1,111) in the UK.
