I have not been able to find idle jets and mine was a #30 so I ordered a Mikuni clone for a 196 cc Baja mini bike. The idle jet was un marked but is smaller the main jet was changed to a 120 size.
Idle is much better, still have a slight hesitation off idle. Plug still reads rich after this run. I am going to lower the needle before changing the main jet to a smaller one.
Slow but progressing.

That looks like a hoot..... back in the early 1960's Go Karting was extremely popular....with kits and engines and hop up excesories being sold in Hot Rod and other car publications, with articles about the races. This reminds me of those days.

Hi, I have a GoPro 11 with internal GPS. During editing in Quik you can apply what they call stickers that display the GPS info.

Hi, This is pretty new, there are a few national venues. For club meetups private industrial parks can be used with owner permission. I live in a private community where everyone has golf carts. My 1926 Miller cyclekart is my substitute golf cart and I get to take it to events! Private land with permissions but public roads for the most part are off limits for unlicensed vehicles.

Is this self made? Or store bought? I’d like one

This is amateur built by me! Building a unique caricature of your theme car is half the fun. Lots of information here. www.cyclekartclub.com/forum/cyclekart-tech-forum.2/1926-miller-15-first-build-benson-az.72179/#msg-72179

That's a sweet looking/sounding Miller. Off-idle hesitation? Did it come with the Tillotson carb? Did moving the needle have any measurable effect? Try this: Increase the idle speed a fair bit. Does the problem go away? No? Then either go with the Mikuni or preferably a Tillotson Box Stock. OR Does the problem goes away? Yes? Then there must be some blockage in the idle circuit. When you increase idle rpm it uncovers the transition slot, bypassing the idle circuit and runs the carb in the main metering circuit. Voila! No hesitation. Does the mixture screw have any effect when you run it in or out? Big effect or not much? Take out the idle mix screw and inspect the tip to make sure it hadn't broken off and lodged in the idle air bleed orifice. If okay, start looking in the transition slot, should be where the baseplate throttle blade meets the bore when closed. Follow the passages and clean with B-12, cutting torch tip cleaners, and air pressure. I stick one of those red carb cleaner straws into the tip of my air blower....the kind with the rubber pointed tip and leave a bit of the straw sticking out. It makes a great precision tiny blower perfect for carb passages. Be careful to have the straw against something/in the orifice before you hit the lever....it will shoot off into the unknown oblivion faster than anything anyone has ever witnessed. Other than the basics like float level etc. there's not much else. If you have any other issues, hit me up. Carburetors are my thing. No brag, name the carb and I guarantee I've rebuilt one or two, no matter what kind of engine it came on. Best of luck and happy karting.

Hey Thanks for replying! So the box stock engine has been modified. Reference Go Power Sports video Tillotson E mini bike stage two. Removed governor, billet rod, recommended cam, clone Mikuni with name on slide cap, larger exhaust pipe. This carb primary mixture 1/2 turn max before excessive rich. Main jet 130 needle in middle. Plug black and sooty. Changed main jet 125 ran wide open 1mile plug soot going away insulator brown ground electrode clean. Moved needle down plug cleaned up more still stinky idle and bogging when accelerating after decelerating. Changed to Amazon no label Mikuni clone. Changed main jet from 95 to 120 needle in middle. I can get clean idle app 1 1/4 turn out. I can hear it go lean and rich adjusting the idle jet. It will idle below 1400 and does not stink. But will not cold start without turning the idle speed screw in a couple of turns then idle is above 2000. But I can turn it back out to 1400 and it idles fine? Moved the needle down one ring and it would not start or run, moved the needle up two from bottom. Would not start without pulling slide open but then idled ok. Readjusted idle jet and idle speed. Clean idle but not clean transition off idle. Then it rained. I will move needle up again…

You slow down a lot in places where I wouldn't even lift the throttle on a regular car or on a go-kart. Is this because spoked bike wheels get damaged very easily?
@oneskydog6768
@oneskydog6768 10 месяцев назад
Lots of reasons. I built this from scratch but using some manufactured components. I am not a race car driver but I have driven go carts at public venues. People have turned these over and at 74 years old I really do not want to do that. I also do not want to damage a one off piece of art a caricature of a 1926 Miller 91 Special. These are not replicas or scale models but seek to give the feeling of a golden age racer. Trust me I had a 1948 truck ladder frame massive leafs in the back dropped front axle on leaf springs, the handling is uncannily similar. No trophies for first place we just race around for fun at individual paces. Finally yes motorcycle wheels are not designed to take heavy side loads and at $120.00 each I am not inclined to try massive power slides. Thanks for watching! 👍

Great lttle car and obviously loads of fun. I wonder how long the bike wheels will last as they are not designed to take any side thrust when cornering hard.
@oneskydog6768
@oneskydog6768 11 месяцев назад
The wheels are Honda 90 clones. They do fail under side loads but not often. Keep spokes tight and minimize hard drifting they last a long time.

@@oneskydog6768there is a market of overbuilt rims for golf carts that seem to be roughly the same diameter as Honda 90s but they're much wider and more robust. since a lot of cycle carts don't have wheel wells and the hubs are pretty far out from the body of the car you probably wouldn't have clearance issues with steering depending on how close the linkages are to the hub itself. you'd probably be able to slide around more. I get staying true to the original cycle cart design tho lol. Bike rims have a cool aesthetic.

Actually the Honda 90 wheels and tires are a significant amount of weight already compared to the rest of the kart. They do just fine driving. Sliding around corners is not much faster if any than driving around corners. The theme of this cyclekart is the 1926 Miller 91 Special #15 that won the Indy 500 in 1926. It is the only one of its kind in the world 🌎 and I like it! Thanks for the comment!
