Cycling 500 kilometres to get to a MTB race - Matthew Fairbrother
This is the story of 18-year-old mountain biker Matthew Fairbrother. The New Zealander is racing the UCI Enduro World Cup in a very unique way. As a one man team, Matthew cycles from race to race on the exact same bike he then races down the mountain.
Clocking up some incredible distances of up to 500 kilometres between races, we join him on his journey from Pietra Ligure in Italy to Leogang in Austria, while stopping off in Lenzerheide, Switzerland along the way.
In 2022, Matthew racked up an incredible 4,000 kilometres of cycling between races, while still finishing 13th overall in the Under 21 series standings.
