Hello People,
Watch the real brussels in this video showing me cycling in brussels on its narrow streets.I use a decathlon electric bike, was it worth spending €800 on Decathlon Electric Bike?
I have shown raw route and added my real commentary. See my experience and learn how you can also use(or decide not to use) your bicycle to go to work or do any chores. Great video! 😊 I didn't know you could buy an electric bike from a reputable brand for that cheap. I wish the drivers here were more hospitable to cyclists. Drivers in Brussels are a lot less courteous than those in other Flemish cities but hopefully, it will improve over time as more people choose to ride a bike. 7:33 I always take the elevator at Palais de Justice so I don't need to cycle uphill. 😉

Nice bike ride in Brussels. Many places I have never seen before as I am often at Brussels visiting friends. I live in West Flanders. Bicycling infrastructure is much better , easier and safer here than in Brussels considering being a big city, lot of narrow streets, much more traffic, unruly car drivers and hilly places in Brussels. But Brussels area is set to improve bicycling infrastructure bit by bit...making more space for bicyclists and pedestrians...and less space for cars or similar vehicles. Be safe. Swati, sorry for the late reply! I'm so happy you are choosing to bike around! Tips: many organisations offer free of cost training on how to ride safe in Brussels / Belgium. Example: proVelo, Bike Experience Brussels, etc. Take a session with them. Apart from this, please always wear a helmet, be visible(MOST IMPORTANT!) - by wearing a gillet, lights or reflective vests, etc. - its your duty as a cyclist to be visible. Ride in the right most lane if cycling lane is not present, be aware to not be in dead angles of vehicles ahead of you, Be extra cautious at round-abouts(car ahead of you might not see you when they exit the round about, and you are behind)...be extra cautious when the roads are wet(especially in this season and winters) - keep your bike well maintained. These are the tips that came straight when I saw your question! Rest is for you to discover in the beautiful and liberating world of cycling! :)

Brussels really has to pump up their bycicle infrastructure, just painting bikes on the road does not make a bike lane! This is really ridiculous, cars don't take any notice to the bikes they move into the bike lanes without any regret ( see black BMW on 3:42 ).
