Part of our 5 year long cycling trip around Asia and Africa. 55 days in Mongolia. A truly unforgettable experience and a country to never ever forget. This is part I, part II, the Gobi desert is in another video.
Anyone who is interested in understanding what steppe is must watch this video. No rubbish commentary, beautifully exposed steppes. Understandably each and everything without any commentary. Lush green plain land on such a high altitude, amazing.
Hi Nicolas, I read your blog and saw your videos, what you did is really amazing. I plan to do a bike tour as well, from France to Mongolia. I was wondering if you could tell me the name of the place at 12:30 , by the lake? With the music and the landscape it was so beautiful it almost made me cry!Such a wonderful area, i can't believe that kind of place exists on earth. If you could tell me, I would be so grateful; I can't cross Mongolia without seeing it, even if there's probably other beautiful places! Anyway, congratulations and keep up the beautiful pictures and videos!!!
Love your videos ♥️ i leave in march from belgium to Luxemburg to Switzerland to Italy to Spain to france and back home 😊😊 your videos really inspire me.
Thanks David! The music I got it from some blog dedicated to Mongolian music, search for MOngolian music blog, it's a blogspot address. I can't remember, but they have tons of youtube videos with great traditional music
hi there , great footage here , we are planning a similar journey and i have a technical question . Did you have 26 or 700 rims ? they look larger than 26?? thanks in advance
+Claire Millar Hi Clarie, we managed it with 700 cc, but I don't recommend it at all if you go truly of road like I always do. That was an exception because we had been given those bicycles for a test drive. The 700 cc was a true pain in the ass most of the way. But if you don't go to extremes like I do, then you'll be fine
+ewauvwas yeah, I hated those 1.75 tires, but those were not our bicycles. We were given those for a test drive only for Mongolia. I use only 2.0 Schwalbe's
First of all this is amaizing!! My dream is to go on bicycle touring. Please could you share with us (rookie's of bicycle touring) how much money did you guys spend? Thank you ;)
thanks man! Your budget depends on several factors but mostly on your standards and how much paid comforts you want. You can spend as little or as much as you want. I've always been a rock-bottom traveler. I spend about 7-8 USD a day on average, 10 in some countries and 5 or less in others. But not many people are like this, but I have more than enough and feel privileged to live like this.
Hi Mark, send me an email so I can fill you in with the details as soon as I can, I'm currently cycling across Africa. Meanwhile, If you search through my blog nicolonelytraveler.blogspot.com you'll find the posts for the whole Mongolian trip.
Nicolás Marino that be great my email marksteenson@icloud.com i just finished vietnam lao and cambodia .. now in maldives updating my gear list and resting a broken shoulder from the trip www.bikepacking.mobi ..
For a moment...the first 3 seconds of the film it REALLY seemed like Nico was going to use the soundtrack of Star Trek next Generation!! To Boldly Cycle where few cyclists dare to cycle!!😀😀😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😀😀😀😄😄😄😄
Nicolás Marino no you are not, this is by far one of the best movies, i watch alot of movies people make when traveling, for me thats the best way to see how it is. your camera has sutch a great quallity, what is it, are you traveling with pro setup? im planning myself a trip tru mongolia and i wo der, from where to where did you drive within mongolia (included the other video), and how was it to find food and water during your trip, its a bit a concern for me, special on cobi. for me its also a question from where to where i want to go, i love to cross from west to east, but if you fly in you ended in the middle, if you arive from kazachstan the only road includes russia what is a bit of a problem, also kazachstan is so big and so stretched out its craze, im only planning on 5 to 6 months so its easier to fly to asia and start paddling there instead of losing months starting in western europe what is boring as fuck to paddle. i love your videos and i hope you post more and more, keep up the good work! and tips and tricks always welcome!
Saludos!
