Back in the dark ages I used the Tissington trail a few times whilst going cycle camping in places like Wetton Mill or Hulme End. Eventually, as I got to know the White Peak better, I realised that there were much, much better routes even if they involved the occasional 1 in 6. I've always ridden there, mainly from home which is 30 miles south of Ashbourne, except on one occasion when I did the Burton 200K (my 1st 200K) which started from Rolleston-on-Dove. ATB Paula

We really enjoyed it. The climbs were challenging but that is what made it fun and the views are spectacular once you get up a depth. :)

Nice trail! Nice lid too! Just ordered a MET Terranova, I need the extra protection because of the frozen patches and frozen roots this time of the year. Had a few scares :) Love the videos!

Looks like a fun ride. I recently moved to the West Mids and looking for off-road adventures. This is exactly the sort of route that I love. Have you uploaded the route anywhere (gpx, whatever)?

@@BicycleAdventureClub The first section of that route up the gated road past Thorpe Pastures is the route I used to take when camping up at Hulme End. I can thoroughly recommed it as an alternative to the lower section of the Tissinton Trail, which can get far too busy with children and dogs randomly running about.

@@Backcountryscot it looks good but if I'm honest I wouldn't recommend it. Way too floppy to be useful, unless stuffing it with a jacket or similar, hence the foam. Also the press stud closure can't be used on the fly.
