After taking 5 months off the bike, and not really having done anywhere near enough training. My bike-packing trip from Roscoff to Cherbourg is suddenly upon me. The first part, ride 100 miles to Plymouth to catch the ferry to Roscoff. What could possibly go wrong!!?

In still editing the series and I’m very excited about getting them out for people to see. It was an incredible week, with some stunning places to ride bikes. Thank you

Great stuff Darren. The Blackdowns are tough and that climb out of Clapham is savage - only ever gone down it. Looking forward to the next video in France😀

Thanks Geraint, I’ve finished editing the first three videos and I’m already excited to finish the series. The next two just show how good riding in France is. I can’t wait to share them with everyone. Yes, that climb was especially savage on a fully laden bike, I concur!

That looks like a great loop. I’m not sure about the elevation but hopefully a nice ride. Now, that elevator clip 🤔😝 motivation? 😜😊😜😊 Wayne

Thanks Wayne, I’m currently editing the 3rd video in the series and there was so much good scenery. I’m motivated to go and explore some more and ride my bike again. Although, I’d happily have given it away in Exeter!! 😂

Thanks Spike, it was a great week and has me buzzing for planning some more trips for the future. France is just made for cycling.

Ace work lads… Darren, looks like you have the entire technical department of Television Center on your Velo…must add a ton to your bike?👏🏽

It certainly does, in hindsight, I didn’t need all of it either. I will certainly be able to streamline my set up next time. I also though the hip pack would be a good solution for my drink bottles and snacks, but the thing wouldn’t stay tight around my waist and just got on my nerves for the few days, before I decided to strap it to the handle bar bags. I was tempted to throw it in the bin! But it did cost a bit. We live and learn!

Brilliant first leg Darren and kudos for digging deep on that mega ride! How come Pete looks like he’s only ridden 20k?? 🤣🤣👏

He looked fresh all week, even after he crashed, he was still going twice as fast as me!! Let’s call it Postman fitness!
