Actually, LSU was the number 1 team. Oklahoma State was 2 and Alabama was 3. When Iowa State beat Ok St Alabama jumped up to 2 and so they got to play LSU in the championship instead. They ended up winning.

First Land Grant University as well.

Oklahoma State was the number one contender last year to go up against Alabama for the NCAA football championship. When Iowa State pulled an amazing upset to beat then #2 Oklahoma State it ruined their chances of playing against 'Bama for the title.

I detest ISwho but since you've gone there and combined Iowa with them perhaps you should consider: Iowa and ISU, 31 National Championships in wrestling (Iowa 23 of last 37 titles). Nebraska? Zip. OR Iowa appearances in NCAA tourney, 22. ISU, 14. Nebraska? 6. I don't pretend sports other than football don't exist just because my team isn't #1 in them as Nebby fans do.
