In fact, this should be titled " How NOT to work on a Cylindrical Grinding Machine"... Every single step is to show how not to do things. He did not bother to clean the rusted centres, did not use proper material handling equipment while handling heavy objects, This is classic abuse o a precision machine. Perhaps , he simply assumed that cyl.grinding is similar to fettling...
Also depth of cut is too deep, and running a really slow feed... for roughing feed should be 1/3 the width of the wheel per part revolution.... good way to wear a taper into the wheel and heat up the part..
This is rather barbarian approach, with no measurements and very deep gronding of the stock.. I guess the tolerance and precision is not the issue here...

I own 4 of them and. I'm a Tool Maker but if you have someone who runs just grinders then he or she would be titled as a Grinder hand. Lathe hand, Mill hand, Jig borer, Jig Grinder. These people would specialize in that specific area of the trade.
