@@Lindberg1984 I'm surprised because Psycho Realm is underground, therefore not your average Joe knows about their shit. Hell, I'm in Califas and there's many people who never heard of them! Everything is "world wide", thanks to the world wide web, but that doesn't necessarily mean that everyone from all points of the world know of everything. Not a big fan of Cypress Hill though.. Psycho Realm for life! 👍😎✌️
@Psy Lothar It depends, bc there are Spanish only "Mexican/Hispanic" MC's that are on that level of lyricism. Control Machete, Kinto Sol, Cartel De Santa, C-Kan, Dyablo & so on. As far as English, well, you have 2Mex off of The Visionaries & Of Mexican Descent, Lighter Shade of Brown, Kemo The Blaxican, Los Nativos from Rhymesayers, Cynic, SPM, & more. Notice I only mentioned Mexican MC's. Most other Mexican MC's are gang affiliated or portray this lifestyle & so their audience is limited even if there's talent present. Big props & respect for Sick Jacken for keeping it together and continuing in the rap game in the aftermath of his brother, very proud of him.
As a brother who was deep into westcoast hip-hop back in the 90, hip-hop was pretty much dominated by African American culture and cultures that were linked to African ancestry (including the West Indies). Outside of that it was very hard for any other culture to break into the hip-hop scene nor less to even get respect in the game period. Cypress Hill was cool, but to me it was Psycho Realm that in my eyes was the best hip-hop group of Mexican ancestry. Their production was dope, their lyrics were dope and overall, they truly represented what hip-hop was all about. Hands down, Psycho Ream to this date is one of the dopest Latino hip-hop groups coming from the Mexican Ancestry and because of that, they are and will always be one of my fave hip-hop groups of all times. They need to do an Unsung documentary on them.
No doubt that all western forms of music are African based. The drums and the rhythms are African Tribal based! Latino people have always been around it because they come from the same communities and similar upbringing! In the Bronx where Hip Hop was created next door was your neighbor Julio and his family, remeber go back to the late 70's early 80's and the majority of B-boys and Graff artists were Latino in all major cities. Cold Crush Brothers were one of the first Hip Hop groups and their DJ was Latino DJ Charley Chase. No shape or form am I saying Latinos started it but they have been part of it from its early beginnings.
I got here from the joe rogan podcast going down a rabbit hole from "everlast" and just discovered this cat and he is fuckin amazing!! Dont know how i didnt know about him sooner. And some of my favorite rappers are Latino peedi crack, big pun..there were no mainstream"Mexican" rappers tho that popped really..maybe "6IX9INE" but yall might not want to claim that guy right now lol
Black man from Brooklyn just discovering Sick Jacken this week from a posse cut with Ill Bill and Sean P. Currently diving deep in his catalogue and wondering how tf I missed this incredible lyricist. His flow and wordplay is so immaculate! If you comment please drop some recommendations either Spanish or English.
El mundo es un barrio. Street platoon feat. Mausberg sick of it all song. I'll frame collaboration which are mostly underground hits. But worth finding. There's so many songs even my black homies from the east coast were wanting to know about em.
This song made me close all my windows, put my gasmask on, lock all my doors on my way outside just so I could turn around and break into my own crib!! #SickSideForLife #PsychoRealmForumFamily ✊🏽 🔥🔥🔥
