These NA speakers on RU-vid helped me stay clean for a huge portion of the pandemic, my clean date is 3/3/2020 , I'm on step 2 I have a sponsor I have a service position at my home group and a daily connection to my "HP"
I needed to hear this today. I have 9 1/2 months clean and sober and I've really been struggling today. I don't want to call my sponsor or my network. I don't want to go to a meeting. The only thing I wanted to do all day was hit up an ex who's still out there and join him. Then I remembered a speaker tape that was stolen last year but it use to give me hope so I figured I would listen to a speaker tape on RU-vid. This speaker has saved my life. I'm going to a meeting. I'm going to share. And I'm going to wake up clean tomorrow. Take care y'all. Much love.

I don't even remember writing this comment but obviously this video helped to get me through whatever crisis I was going through back then (and there were many, many crises that first year, bless my heart.) Through grace, guidance, open mindedness, willingness, and complete desperation, I celebrated 3 years clean and sober October 2023. It still amazes me. A codependent, people pleasing, alcohol and meth user who had no boundaries or sense of self, now clean and sober for 3 freaking years - I'm crying from just writing that. Miracles happen y'all. We can get better. Please never give up. ♥️♥️♥️
im so grateful to be clean I battled heroin for years last year i detoxed off of subs I was sick for 3months I prayed and do anything I could to stay clean thank u god and people in narcotics anonymous to help me and love me today im 2years and 8 months clean thank god
I am an opiate addict. The longest time I have been able to be off subs is 25 days. Each time, I really meant it. When I hear stories like yours, it gives me hope. Thanks for being clean and sober

I don't know who needs to hear this but you can find recovery right now and turn your life around. Your bottom can be when you decide to stop digging. You do not need to play Russian roulette with your life one more day. Find a meeting. Get a sponsor. Work the steps. Get a service position. Learn to be honest. Seek the sunlight of the spirit. Find serenity. It is as simple as that. But I didn't say it would be easy. You have family out there that are worried sick about you. You CAN repair those relationships. Please start right now.
I have hope any addict can stop using, because I have seen it happen in the lives of so many people. I was in a meeting with my sponsor last night, playing on my phone, and she looked at me and said "Put your phone down Sarah, you have way to much clean time to be doing that. Newcombers are watching you." After that I thought "guess I'm going to need a new sponsor..." I have almost 4 years clean, and sometimes feel just as clueless as the day I walked in. But I'm so grateful I'm not caught up, I didn't wake up strung out, I have SOO many people who love me today, and even better someone to show me the way, ONCE fucken again.. My disease wants me dead, using AND fucken clean, and better believe i won't ever forget that. Thank you!!

I find after having listened to over 1300 meetings like this during my 2 years clean that speaker meetings are largely positive and highly motivating compared to all the years I attended in person meetings listening to the same people making the same mistakes and excuses for their failure to live the program and work the steps.

Drugs and alcohol did two things to me. They loosened me up after high school. They were the new reward after a good day on duty. You know I didn't find them alone. I was walked into the bar or driven to the dippy spot. In a 8 Year period the drugs and alcohol are on board but the hand on the shoulder has disappeared. I was a sloppy drink from the beach. A man in the meeting might say that I'm not an alcoholic the footprint of incomprehensible demoralization fit perfectly. There's another force now guiding me. Don't do this don't do that. Had a good day at work but turned into a bad day at work because of me, of course. I lack gratitiude in my work life, cause i just want more money. I should be grateful i have a job. Now im obsessing over these rates they want us to achieve, and im a perfectionist and i have to be better then everyone else so i can be seen cause my whole life i felt unseen. Kristine w I just want to say thank you and this is very good for me because I'm not great at being around people at my normal meetings because I just don't like the way they look and certain people just give me the eye and all that so I listen to all of y'all speak on it. NA speakers because this is more better for me because I feel comfortable to hear and people from all over the world sharing a whole lot of stuff even though some of the stuff I didn't go through because most of the drugs I didn't do cuz mine's was crack cocaine I had a cousin who was up out here prostitute and doing all kinds of drugs if she can change so can I but she's no longer here she told me and I'm always remember this you can be better than who you are because you are a great woman and you are better than me the man that she loved knew she had AIDS and still married her I love my cousin to this day and we'll always and that's part of my message I've been in and out of programs psych wards I even been to jail but it's come to a point which I have to learn to be able to deal with me and all the stuff that you talked about I need you to keep sending me stuff if it's okay with you I'm on Facebook Kimberly Matthews or you can message me however you want to I just want to stay clean and I just want to find a sponsor in the Hartford Connecticut area I just want to do what I need to do and my temporary sponsor that I'm dealing with we're on step 3 and I didn't understand what it was until I heard you talk about changing your thought mine and stuff like that because that's what I need to do because I got to change a lot of things about me and what I do places people and things like I said I've been doing this for too many years I'm 50 years old I got two kids and two grandchildren I am sick and tired of being sick and tired of sick and tired just want to say thank you
