you probably dont care but if you guys are bored like me atm you can watch all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been watching with my brother for the last couple of weeks =)
In nearly 15 years of watching Quake, I've never seen anyone play so good for such a long time and simultaneously be so much fun to watch (Even today in Quake Champions). Rapha is a great player, no doubt but I just dont find his play style half as fun to watch as Cypher's. Even when he's playing defensive, it's a joyride. Cypher Cypher Cypher all the way
The frag transitions impressed me slightly more than the frags themselves. Seriously, the editing is a work of art. Notable transitions: 0:59, 1:10, 1:16, 2:08, 3:15, 3:24, 3:46, 4:09, 5:44
This video is amazing in every single way. Cypher has always been my favorite player, probably the greatest aim of all time. Your editing skills are fantastic to go with it. 10/10
he's not the greatest aimer. but he is far and away the best and dealing dmg and escaping I think of him as the Floyd Mayweather of quake. deals his dmg than gets out of harm's way
Erislandy Valdez Cypher IMO is without a doubt the best aimer to ever play the game. The reason he can deal damage and not take it is because of his lightening reflexes, he can flick rail someone across the map and be gone again instantly. Let me put it to you this way: Lets say him and any other pro quake player have equal stacks and encounter each other in the open, and it just comes down to pure aim. What other pro do you see killing him the majority of the time in that circumstance? There is nobody else who can top Cypher in the raw aim category. BTW I loved your Mayweather analogy, it was a good one.
In just a pure open fight aim vs aim? Toxqj, stearmy, strenx, linkin, winz, evil. I'm missing a few. But those guys all stay and fight as we're cypher leaves the area. Tox is the only one that really stands above the rest.
I actually just watched matches of Cypher vs evil, toxic, and stermy. He easily out aimed all of them. Evil I remember specifically Cypher getting 8 frags in a row on in LG battles in the open, with cypher having the lower stack. Toxic might be a good candidate for someone close to Cypher's aim, the rest of the people you listed I don't think are on the same level.
Great movie, it is a sight to see the strongest and most complete player in the world still win the QuakeCon 2014. Congratulations to Cypher which is proving a continuity without the first place and a reaffirmation for those who questioned its value to FaceIt. Playing online games is one thing and in another lan :), only proves them who actually is the strongest.
shirako takamoto Cypher was still shitting in nappies when Quake 1 was released. He's just slightly autistic is all. Everyone in the top tier are. And FYI, if you think this is impressive, watch Rapha play when he is on point.
jackalack93 Most high level players generally run with 120 fov. It allows great vision and you can generally aim with all weapons in that fov to a high accuracy rate. Some players double bind keys to not only change weapon but also toggle an FOV and maybe even a different crosshair to better suit a particular weapon. But yes, if I remember Cyphers config he plays with 120 fov. Possibly 115, I can't remember.
TheVanillatech Most duellers play with an fov around 100. I think Cypher's is 95. The FOV in this movie is not what Cypher normally plays with, it's just whatever FOV the movie maker decided on. The illusion of speed also comes from the fact that they use motion blur in this movie.
Cypher GG. Morgot good movie! Good addition to my collection =) I liked the transitions between frags/maps. This trick is not new, but it is implemented so smoothly in this movie.
Here's to the game that made PC muliplayer gaming great. (And Counter-Strike of course) I just wish I'd known about it when I was younger, I fell in love with TF2 but never really played Quake. (I was born in '99)
Last dm6 comeback is reminded me about great lexer-chaoticz dm6 game on quakecon 2002. Same map, same event, same comeback with a difference of 12 years!
incredible movie m8. music is nice and the ending is REALLY cool. would give 10/10 if there were no green keels, but normal enemy models and more third person cams. 9/10
The editing in this was absolutely sexy. I wish we will someday start getting Counter-Strike style cinematic fragmovies in Quake. I think QC will bring it up someday :)
