Cyril Neville produced this concert to honor the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Mardi Gras Indian tribe by his uncle Big Chief Jolly (George Landry) in 1974 - and the eponymous Wild Tchoupitoulas album recorded in 1976. This selection from the concert includes all the songs performed that night that were on that seminal album. It was the first time the four Neville brothers recorded together and was the impetus for them to play as a group, which they continued for many decades.
Neville was backed by his son's band Omari Neville and The Fuel, and they were joined on vocals by the current Wild Tchoupitoulas leadership Big Chief Roderick Sylvas and Big Queen Tonya Sylvas, in their Indian suits.
