We're showing our appreciation today for our favorite scholar/black mage. After I got cyrus in our party, the game got a whole lot easier for a while with him to clear the field with his spells. The character himself - in the beginning I found him pretty pretentious. He grew on me though - especially as the theme of learning for the sake of it and devotion to teaching developed throughout the game. We hope you enjoy our arrangement!

Coming back to this stunning cover after a few years, amazing job to everyone involved! I get so much nostalgia from this soundtrack (especially for my favourite character of the Octobunch!) and I’m thankful for the handful of covers out here for me to come back to and enjoy

I found this on spotify last year and only JUST found it on youtube! I must say, I've looped this arrangement ever since I found it! It's so good, and while I love the original as well, this arrangement feels SO MUCH like Cyrus! It has his whole personality in this arrangement: whimsical and inquisitive. You guys did an amazing job!

@@IsrafelCello If you don't mind me asking, what does that process look like? Is there sheet music being passed around, edits proposed and tried, etc?

@@OctaviaConAmore Purpleschala and I do most of the arranging. We don't live in the same city, so we send a lot of files back and forth. Often she starts by making a basic piano part, and I write the other parts taking that into account. Then we typically go back and forth at least a couple of times refining it all. These are arrangements that we wrote near the end of last summer, and we did get a chance to try them out in person when we went to visit her end of August. Then there were some delays, but eventually we get everything recorded in out home studios and edited and mixed.

Thanks for saying that! We all record separately and mix it together afterwards. @artemisoboe and I record in the same room, which has acoustic treatment, and I have a very good large diaphragm condenser that I use on us.
