A rough tabletop review of my CZ Customs A01-C Rail Pro Tek and comparison to the CZ 75 P-01 Ω. The unloaded A01-C with the TLR-7a weighs in at approximately 41 oz. #a01-c #a01 #czp01 #p01 #cz75 #cz75 #czcustoms #a01
I, maybe, shouldn't be saying this, but I built this pistol, and it was great to hear your review of my build. I'm beyond elated that you like it/run it/work it. As far as the customer service side of our shop goes: we have maybe two people answering phone calls/e-mails (I don't deal with that side of the house - I am just one of the three folks that build the A01 series). Thank you for your honest review and for enjoying the pistol I put a lot of hours into. I don't know if you can DM on RU-vid, but if you have real world thoughts on something that can be made better: I, personally, would love to hear it
Is it possible to get A01 in Single Action? The front of that A01c you built looks so flush & tight fitting 👏🏻 You boys really craft some gems 💎 in that house!
It is easier to get non-dedicated personnel to master one trigger pull over two. That is the only reason I can figure. I like the safety of a double action. You can still make hits with a DA Pull. ru-vid.com32RvdeHIdrw?feature=share
Thanks for the video brother. You answered the questions I posted earlier. Nicely done. I knew the moment this was posted because I subbed after talking with you earlier. Edit: Oak Hill has one of these in house, albiet not optic cut. After listening more to you I'm not sold on the cut. I own the CZC SDP and a CZC Accushadow 2, both are awesome. I looked for months for the A01C, couldn't find one and bought the Staccato C2 (then spent a ton on extras). Like you I'm at the point in life that the delivery system means as much as the delivery itself.
It is not a fast dream. They build them to order…sometimes not half a dozen in a year. It is a really nice gun. Mine is going to sport a Trijicon RMR HD as soon as I can get it in!
It shoots great! There is certainly a point of diminishing returns where the cost goes up a lot faster than the performance. ru-vid.com32RvdeHIdrw?feature=share
I own a 2022 CZ Custom Pro Tek 2. Weight is 24oz with no rounds in Mag. Pro Tell 2 has CZC deburded Aluminum frame, tri-cut lightened slide, trigger tweaks, extended firing pin, ... So, some differences, some similarities to yours. I had CZC mill the slide for a Holosun with ACSS reticle, which also came loose after 100+ rounds. The mounting screws had factory Locktite, but too high up on the screw, not on the lower screw threads where needed. After adding additional blue Locktite and witness marks to the screw mount, no issues with the dot holding. I added Springer Precision mag well and baseplates, partially for additional grip support. I use a hybrid holster kydex and leather from Tucker holsters made for a P-01 with a light, fits great, leather protects the finish and makes drawing the pistol quiet.
I'm glad you found a great sounding setup! I may have to check out that holster combo! The P-01 is certainly lighter and easier to carry than the A01-C.
I'm not upset with my A01-C at all. It is fat and heavy. I wanted all steel on a hand built custom gun so it will outlast the grandchildren I do not yet have. Their trouble will be getting springs...
@@HollyrockFarm I love my a01 ld (picked up lightly used). I carried an all steel compact eaa witness wonder finish 10mm (with 40 barrel) for a while but the weight just made it not worth it.
I've never even heard of the A01 CZ and at that price I'm OK with that. I just took my P01 Omega and had it milled for a holosun 507k . The best pistol I've shot... ever. I'm selling my Staccato C2 because of it. Didn't expect this to happen, but when I shot a 1" in. group of 10rds at 7yrds my mind was blown. It's the stock trigger on the Omega, so I don't feel the same at as you do about it (I shot about 1.5k rounds before shelving it for no red dot) My trigger might be more broken in than yours. After dot, dpm springs, TLR-7A, and AC Mag well/ base plates in about 1500 in with a amazing pistol I carry always. Do you feel the A01 warrants that price if you can work on your own guns?
My A01-C does not rattle when I shake it in any direction. You can tell it was hand fitted. All sharp edges are gone. The trigger mechanism is proprietary and is smoother than my P-01 after I installed the CGW kit. I’m a bit of a trigger snob. The P-01 after the CGW kit was awesome. I wanted that next level of fit and finish and the A01-C delivered. From a practical standpoint, the A01-C is not an economical way to fire a 9x19 mm cartridge. It is however the way to get maximum fit, finish, and performance from the CZ-75 type pistols in the P-01 size envelope. I’ve still got my P-01 Omega.
@@HollyrockFarm My Omega doesn't rattle at all either (I may have got one built on weds) I also am a bit of a trigger snob and usually change all my triggers or springs, but for some weird reason the Omega trigger just works for me. I appreciate you explaining the fit and finish, that is something that is difficult to discern from just a video. It's like trying to explain the feeling of a Atlas "2011" to someone that's only fired a Glock. Appreciate your time and the video.
So the P-01 omega and the traditional P-01 couldn’t be more different on the inside so the traditional P-01 is the same trad lock work system that all the other CZ 75 pistols have and have had since the beginning and the only reason they changed it for the omega version is they had to do it so you could have the interchangeable safety to decocker thing going on but they are completely different guns and the OG P-01 is much better imo especially after the CGW pro package is installed and I know this bc I have 2 omegas and one standard P-01 and one omega has the CGW pro package installed as well but the stock trigger on the omega is trash.
I was surprised how bad the Omega trigger was. I knew there was a difference in the standard P-01 and the Omega trigger. I had to go with the Omega because I'm wrong (left) handed. I did the CGW install myself. I understand the Omega is less of a puzzle than the standard trigger mechanism. With the Omega, I've had a single light primer strike...makes me skeptical. I heard there was a shortage of small pistol primers and companies that outsource their primers were using harder small rifle primers to get by...that may be it. The light strike was from a smaller manufacturer. I've not have any issues running anything that was actually made by Federal... My first CZ was the P-01 Omega...they got me.
The CZ P-01 is has been a nice pistol. There are small incremental gains from a custom gun. The A-01C is an amazing machine. At the end of the day, a Federal HST doesn't know if it came from a P-01, A-01C, or hipoint. I don't hate on where you fit in. I'm more happy that people fit in and train.
Probably. I carry the A01-C and the weight is noticeable. At the same time, it shoots like a champ. For me, mission drives gear selection. I'd still like to get my hands on a DWX Compact if they ever materialize.
@@HollyrockFarm I am waiting on the DWX Compact with the light rail to be released myself… I shot both that and the Shadow 2 Compact. Those will be my next two purchases for sure…
I would love to hear more information on the CZC A01C… I to have a highly customized Cajunized P-01 Omega that is an EDC role. I would love to hear more about the differences, weight of the A01 etc. I have been eyeballing the A01C for a bit as well, and like you originally stated there is very little information available on this model. I appreciate your time…
Mostly the major differences between the two pistols that justify the cost premium if you will… I probably have $1,800 in our P-01 Omega. Differences in weight, trigger pull, fit/finish, slide smoothness, and how they shoot etc. Would this be comparable to a custom 2011 of the CZ world etc. I have also heard of issues with the CZC A01’s due to the tolerances being too tight. I am definitely intrigued about this pistol for sure, but wonder if it would be worth the premium or would it be better to spend the money on a Shadow 2 Compact, or even another pistol. I do really like the fact it has a bull barrel and would like to see CZ go this route completely.
Yeah, it shoots great… so does the Shadow 2 compact. Those will both be my next two purchases, but am intrigued with this A01C as well due to the bull barrel.
Y does the A01C barrel lift in the open slide position but the omega doesn't.....im a novice so if sum1 can brighten me up PLZ do......IM 'stupid' an obviously I've noticed all the sigs have that design an thrz obviously nothing wrong with them ,but i just have an attraction to barrels that are fixed? or remain inline??? I'm seriously attracted to the CZ compacts as a 1st an only, lifetime aquisition.......I've got a long way to go ...i didn't grow up WTH firearms but as a goldsmith here in south Africa protection is a major consideration for business an family....crime is very VERY HIGH....😂
They both have a titlting barrel its just more obvious on the A01 due to the silver colored barrel. CZ's along with the vast majority of modern semi auto pistols use a Browning short recoil action where the barrel is tilted upward when unlocked, this forgotten weapons video may help clarify why this happens- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HZcgZ4aq8Ew.htmlsi=avAFcR_cxrWutnIk
also I can attest that if you're looking for an excellent self defense pistols cz's are a great option so if they're available in South Africa they'd be a good choice
Both barrels tilt. The P-01 Omega has a bushing in the slide and the barrel is a lot thinner. The A01-C has a bull barrel and lacks the bushing. The barrel on the A01-C is also a lot thicker (bull barrel) so it is more apparent in the A01-C If you're right handed, the CZ P-01 without the Omega trigger is supposed to be very reliable and have passed NATO specifications. My P-01 Omega has run great. I thought the factory trigger in the P-01 was terrible. I replaced the trigger with the Cajun Gun Works package and it made it a lot better.
@HollyrockFarm I wasn't rushing you on a video, I was telling the above commenter who doesn't have an A01 to mind his business. However I would love to see more content on the A01. I am contemplating on snagging the 1 they have in stock now
