Thanks mate. We say ‘Zed’ here in Aus too. (But see-zee for the company). They do things a bit different - sometimes to the detriment of sales I think. Like the safety. They went to the US standard ‘forward-for-fire’ on their 457- which seemed well received. And then this safety 🤔
Thanks for the review! I'm currently looking for a .223 bolt action. I think I will go with the CZ. The only thing I don't like is the plastic sling swivels.
My front sling swivel snapped off after round 5. CZ Said it was not designed for heavy things like bipods……WHAT ?! They did replace the stock on conditions that they would only do it once. Just put a Boyd’s stock on instead. That being said, she’s accurate as hell
I like the trigger on my two CZ 600 Alphas. If your trigger is below 2 lbs I assume you had to turn it down to setting one. It should have have been shipped with higher setting. It is a 4 position setting one can select easily without any disassembly. I would have mentioned that in your review. My only complaint is it does not reliably hand feed into the top. I heard in review of the new model with MDT chassis that the issue was addressed in the model. I would add that CZ provides a lifetime warranty now on their barrels.
Not a bad looking rifle, wow. I like the way the but stock's cut. I wonder how the Howa 1500 compares with it. Man oh man is that trigger crisp, one pound 11 oz, hmmm. Great how the bolt handle clears the scope.
Agree that the Tikka seems like the most direct competition, and you saying that the 600 has a nicer trigger than the Tikka says something. My biggest hesitation with the 600 is how much aftermarket support it's going to get for things like chassis systems and barrels. The killer feature was supposed to be the barrel swapping, but they "killed" that, and because of the locking arrangement, I don't know that many barrel companies are going to support the thing.
Got this for $460 on gunbroker, end of year 2023 im seeing plenty getting bought up on low bids under $550! Plus the cz rebate going on right now. $100!
