So, after a week or two playing this opening in online blitz these are some of my thoughts: 1: I was surprised almost no one played the f3 setup (covered in part 1) and I would have really enjoyed playing it since ...Qb6 looked cool. Instead, early Nf3 was the most common response I saw and the Austrian setup was definitely the most testing one. 2: It seems to me that knowing how to play the Philidor is important to the Czech Pirc because I felt like in many cases ...e5 was the go-to option if white was being passive or playing different moves. Also, there were times where I ended up with a Benoni-esque pawn structure by having black pawns on e5, d6 and c5 against white's pawn on d5, though it seemed favorable to me on these cases (in one of them I wanted to attack the queenside and in another I wanted to play c5 to increase the pressure on d4). 3: I enjoyed in many cases playing a6 as a waiting move and it seems like a good contribution to any possible setup black can end up with, but it can't be played too soon because white is quite active in this opening and you'll let him do whatever he wants if you don't look for the most active options options you can get.

Could you play 4...Qa5 in this variation like you did against the Austrian Attack, instead of Bb4? I'd be really interested in how that variation would go, if it is a reasonable one.

It is better to transition the pawn structure as seen in the video, but, you can play Qa5 with a plan followed by e5 for a position that will be like a Phillidor.

Try 1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf4 3.Nf3 d5 for an easy game versus the King's Gambit.
