Although Czechoslovakia was invaded prior to World War Two, their tank designs were used in the war. Germany seized Czechoslovakia's stockpile of tanks and incorporated them into their army.

Before, during and after WW I Czechoslovakia had a thriving armaments industry.mŠkoda produced many designs of artillery for Austria-Hungary, Czechoslovakia and others for export. (Of course many countries were still using preWW I/WW I artillery in 1940; France, USSR (tho introducing modern designs), Italy, Yugoslavia, Belgium, Norway, …) The Škoda designs included the excellent 75 mm M15 mountain gun in use after WW I by Italy, Austria, Yugoslavia and others. Zbrojoka BRNO produced the vz 24 rifle (another “short rifle” clone of the Gew 98/Kar 98 Mauser) and the ZB 26/30/33 series of light machine guns. The ZB 33 was the basis fir the BREN.

A lot of the footage for Panzer 38t is actually the TNH-P, an export variant intended for the Iranian army, a side-grade from the initial prototype. For the LT 38 intended for the czechoslovak army, the turret was different, similar to the one of LT 35, but already with 4 crew members intended. LT 38 wasn't supposed to have 3 crew members, unlike the LT 34 and LT 35.

Were the 37mm guns used on these tanks a single loader or semi-automatic?
@General_History
@General_History 4 месяца назад
Thanks for the question! The 37mm guns were not semi-automatic and had to be manually loaded each time before shooting.

AND it was mainly experienced elite crews from 38ts to man the first Tiger I heavy tank battalions, when that beast came into first service in Leningrad theater, when their hulls were sent back for to make Marder tank destroyers of that by also captured by them outflanked or overrun 76mm soviet gunnery, as well! German tank ass Otto Carius started on that 38t as a loader in 1941 with promotion and starting Officer training in Sept. same year before getting famous on Tigers later on!

In 1938, before munich agreement, germans didn't have a lot of good tanks, so if fall grün happened, they hoped for quick victory. This couldn't happen, because their plan worked on catching enemy unprepared and unmobilised. This means, if germany invaded, they'd most likely use panzers I or II. This means, they'd be outclassed by czechoslovak tanks

Unfortunately about a third of the Czechoslovak army and 40% of its officers were Sudeten Germans of dubious loyalty. Tank specs alone don't win wars.

The Germans used Czech Tanks but only until 1941 and in very low Numbers.What the Germans did use in greater numbers were Czech Chassis as Base for German SPG. Like the Marder but Specialy for the Stug's.
@General_History
@General_History 6 месяцев назад
Yes, many more Czech chassis were used for tank destroyers like the Jadgpanzer 38t (which after the war got its nickname “hetzer”).

It's not the same chase at all. The Hetzer hull is longer and wider. It did share the engine and drive line with the 38T. BTW I hear the Girls Und Panzer Ora theme playing in the back ground @@General_History

Thanks for the clarification. Also, the German songs I used are called Westerwaldlied and Königgrätzer Marsch.

@@kirkstinson7316it used the same suspension, same transmission, same engine, same wheels and basic layout, but its true that the whole of its hull has been redesigned and angled

Infantry tank not a medium

True. For 1940-41 standard A12 was rather heavy class but in particular was infantry tank class which mean heavy armoured and slow self propeled blockhouse.
