I like how more interestingly melodic Czerny's practices are compared to Hannon's; Hannon is great for a start, but Czerny makes practice more interesting in my opinion.
@Murgatroydian

Artemis Fowl [2nd Channel] I find the intensive repetition of Hanon is great for dexterity and warming up but Czerny is better for overall application and musicality. Some Hanon then some Czerny is my ideal start to practice.

Hanon is also a good help for scales and arpeggios, and other books, but since the time I finished this book years ago, I end up keep coming back how great this book is (including Op. 299 and more), especially for it's simple harmony. This was one of those books, including Op. 299, where I actually improved my perspective of different harmonies and how they change, especially in sonatas.

I am studying how to compose music with this sheet music. So far, I’d say this is one of the good ways to start out. Not to difficult or to easy but normal. I am also a beginner at the piano and want to fulfill my dream of becoming a composer and maybe a virtuoso.

A few minor mistakes: Don't you feel that you played Nos.1-4 too quickly? In the first bar of No.77 (39:50), there should be a 2nd A on the 4th quaver/eighth note of the left-hand part. Instead, you continued playing C-sharp and E throughout the rest of the bar. Nevertheless, huge thanks for this video! You're doing a great service for beginner pianists.

How do you play 15th? Play C with the left hand when it's E in the right and hold? What does this 3 over C-E-F mean? Also do you start playing EF in the left hand when it's the 2nd C? I'm talking about first bar in exercise nr15
@adrianmonroy9552
@adrianmonroy9552 5 лет назад
I don't really get you questions je-je (sorry English not my language) but more or less this are the answers: 1.- Yes, you hold C with your 4th finger while pressing E and G with you fingers 1 and 2 2.- it's a triplet (if I don't badly remember the name in English) that means you will be playing 3 notes per beat. Oh and 3.- there is no F in the first bar, it's C-E-G

Doesn't state so you can do it at whatever BPM is comfortable for your ability on the peices. I would say reaching about 80 BPM is a good goal for most of these

Is there a spesific speed we have to play? I was playing it more slowly compared to you.
@bananaplanes4966
@bananaplanes4966 3 года назад
You can start off slowly until you get a little better in which you can then increase the tempo (the speed in which you're playing and how fast the beats per measure is). There is no specific tempo shown in these peices so technically you can play at whatever speed you're comfortable with but you still have to make sure that whatever speed you're in, it stays consistent relative to bpm. I hope I answered your question.

Honestly I look for this video only to find out if the FINGERING is the same as the book. Like, it is written 1 and next same notes for finger number 2. So confusing. I doubt how it looks like misprint or, idk..but I think this video makes me sure the original fingering is wrong. Any idea guys..pls share
@galvinn
@galvinn 3 года назад
its a way to play repeated notes. personally id use that fingering for fast passages, but in slow passages like this, its also useful
@redblue2743
@redblue2743 3 года назад
@@galvinn right. I realize the fingering is correct. I now try to play it as it is but in slow to moderate tempo
@redblue2743
@redblue2743 3 года назад
Yes right I think so. I found it useful for easy fingering movement for same finger. So there is a reason Czerny make it that way and students can choose or apply both.

Can someone explain why there is 2 treble clefs rather than a treble clef and a bass clef? I'm a complete beginner so it just seems strange to me.
@daviddoan9308
@daviddoan9308 3 года назад
Hi Mathew, while it is normal to have the treble clef for the right hand and bass clef for the other (presumably, as you will find out later that in some pieces the hand positions will change), Czerny perhaps intended for these studies to be practiced in the range of the treble clef. I think there are practices that are in the bass clef. Also, I think that its intended that one be taught to read ledger lines that go off the clef. Hope this helps.

lemon squeezy I think that it varies between ie. beginners and more advanced players. But musically, I don’t think you want to play that slowly on like No.1
