I remember these, I seem to recall the only thing I liked about them was the spindle lock, it turned them into chunky handled manual screwdrivers.

They were a decent thing twenty odd years ago, I think Ive still got one in the back of a cupboard in the garage.

They are surprisingly good now once you change them to lithium ion. Longer battery life, more power and fast charge.

Nice conversion, I have a couple B&D and a couple Skill I will for sure be doing this upgrade. I noticed that you didn’t put the plastic spacer back in, is there a reason for that? Thanks for sharing, Wayne

I don't think you need the spacer but some hot melt glue might help hold everything tight.

Did that with the pistol version ... but no torque.

That is odd. Torque mostly depends on the gears with small electric motors.

@@DaftOldMan Ni-Cad is known and used for high current demanding applications. Why Li-Ion compensates in voltage. Did a few cordless drills and with more room able to do 2 or 3 Li-Ion cells parallel and that works great. Oldest one has been in service for over 30 years now. Till the motor gives up i guess.
