i don't know anything about bikes, but that was exciting also that ducati dude seems better at wheel to wheel racing, really patient in his corner entering and gets a good traction out of it

the last battle in Austria reminds me Valencia 2009, almost impossible overtake, bravo Dovi. And yes, we miss Nick Harris

Dovi since the first years in 125cc proved to be not one of the, but THE smartest rider on the grid. Even if wasn't the fastest, he had a vision during the battles that only a few have had.

@@MrLew1965 Nope. Next up is Aragon. He isn't racing there. And in Misano Morbidelli will move to Factory team alongside Quartararo. And Dovi is the teammate of Rossi at Satellite team. He rode the same satellite yamaha for a year in 2012 and finished 4th in the championship behind Stoner, Pedrosa and Lorenzo.

Look closely. Actually it's all the opposite. Honda exits faster, and the Ducati enters better due to better downforce. What happens, is that at key moments, especially at last turn of the race, Dovi managed often to be in front or to try an on the limit entry when he was second which made Marc taking a risky entry ( his weak point ) so he went inevitably wide and couldn't take advantage of the better torque/acceleration of his Honda

I'm a big fan of dovi and I'm gutted for him that he never managed a title with ducati. But you must admit ducati gave him every opportunity, he's been there no1 rider for long enough and they have plowed so much money into developing the bike to try and dethrone marquez. He's definitely got the speed but he doesn't have the consistency.

yeah agreed. Marquez is like the target man, the man to beat. This is his era (coming from Rossi fan). He basically boss the all tracks now. To bad, outside of this close battle, Dovi was always been inconsistent, but he's the closest one to beat him if he has the chance side by side, and no doubt no other ride Ducati like Dovi (and of course the legend Stoner), I believe Ducati will regret letting him go next season. Miller, bagnaia, and others new kids are good potential but far from mature with the Duc, and Dovi needs many years to master his bike too

It seems like he always gets caught up in incidents that other riders cause, he just has no luck with that. He’s finished ever race inside the top 7 so far except for one, which was the Lorenzo wipeout. Even in 2017 Aleix took him out in Argentina. He and Marc had the same amount of screw-ups that year, and Dovi screwed up again on the Finale, which he was never gonna win anyway. Bike was completely unsuitable. Okay, he may have bottled it in 2018, but so did Lorenzo, there are always years where a rider crashes a lot. I really think Dovi has a championship in him, but he dedicated his prime years developing the dogshite Ducati of pre-GP17, and it must be appreciated highly (along with Gigi, Pirro and Stoner of course). And its such a shame that Honda used him as a no. 2 to Pedrosa in Repsol the whole time. He looked highly promising on the Scot Honda in his rookie year, a lot more promising than Simoncelli’s rookie year in my honest opinion. Dovi was just screwed over too many times, and taken out by others too many times.

WARRIOR FIGHTER PAHLAWAN mostly because Dovi’s bike is not consistent. Honda is suitable for every track, but Ducati is only really strong in tracks with long straights, or when its raining. If all races were dry last year, Dovi would have much less chances of winning the title. Dovi is a great rider, but Ducati needs to step it up. Its like Ferrari in F1, they have a great driver but the car is never consistent in every track

@@liamvandeseijp6901 Honda suitable for every track. Have you had a look at the riders' championship table recently? After Austria, the 2nd best Honda is Crutchlow on position 9 with 78 points. Marquez has many more points than all the other Honda riders combined. Honda is winning because of him, not because it's the better bike. The Ducati is much better than the Honda at the moment, just look at the standings.

I am watching both F1 and MotoGP actively for like 4 years. I don't have a single memory from F1, it's pure shit. Entertaining only during live, never even watched an race again. While woth MotoGP I can endlessly watch Dovi and Marc race. Or any other rider when race was at this level.

Yeah. He brakes early, giving Marquez the perception that's he's got the move done, only for Dovi to get the better exit and get him back on the switch-back.

Marquez told later that dovi played game he doesn't fall he is cunning, if you notice what you think the Marquez didn't know, he tried against all odds

Dovi also rides a little more conservative to save his tires and therefore have more grip towards the end of the race when other riders are at their last strings of grip. He said it himself in an interview after the Austrian GP.

Same like several years before too. Certain circuits are meant to be for Ducati but majority conquered by Honda + Marquez. Ducati bikes are harder to handle compare to Honda.

One thing is that Dovi manages to win some races, and another very different one that can beat Marc in a whole championship. Let's face it, Marquez is by far the best pilot in the championship, and proves it race after race. Of not mediating a technical cataclysm, that Honda makes a very bad motorcycle for the next year and that Ducati makes the motorcycle of the century, Marquez has all the looks of remaining the king.

I bet the odds would be different if they were given the same bike. Dovi won because the ducati gives more power after corners. You would know if you have ridden any of those bikes.

Only Austria 2019 Dovi was better. This year Honda has improved but previous other years Ducati had clear advantage. It is crazy how Marquez was still able to fight him so close. He probably pushed a little too hard in corner to makeup for the ducati power advantage in previous years

Dovi is not a legend. He won a handful of races but he did win the title. PEDROSA did not win a title but he won many races over a LONG time with Stoner and MARC as his teammate
