Fuck yes! Thank you for capturing this. I saw them in Chicago and met them, hung out for a few. Really really nice guys. That said I did have a complete existential breakdown from the live show and am still recovering. Pushed a bit too close to the void. Yusef is my spirit animal.

its a bestowal of blessings, notice the very same hand gesture (mudra) in many many many depictions of saints in the christian, hindu/buddhist art on our planet

have to say it. I really love the drummer here. does right things all the time. all the fills and such... serve the song like it always should be. and certainly adds to their live sound. way to go, mister!

answering to myself, yes, but all credits to Vico as well for development of his voice. but it's no big A. but then again who really would be? I did not fancy Mat after all while still being a fan of his voice & art, but the point here being: they need someone to "open up" if big V does not grow another head sometime near, because if one to focus must be dropped, I don't think many of us listeners here would have too much to debate. Would not be surprised though if something like that happened. Viper after all ;)

its hindu classical music, they did not make or record it themselves its made with traditional Indian instruments, as in vedic hindu not native american

According to metal-archives, the drummer is Øyvind Myrvoll.

Yup, Øyvind Myrvoll who also plays in Nidingr. He has played drums for Dødheimsgard before, during their tour with Troll in 2013. If you check for the song "Earth Tunnel" (which curiously did not appear on A Umbra Omega), you'll see he's commanding the kit there.

The drummer here is John Sekaran Vooren. Not Øyvind Myrvoll.

There's no way I could ever play in this band and keep a straight face... Yusaf has me dying during Architect of Darkness hahaha. Too bad they never come to the states. Would've loved the chance to see them tour for Umbra Omega when Aldrahn was still in the band.
