Thank you for explaining the process of woodcut prints and the engraving techniques. These pieces are absolutely astounding, especially now that I understand what it took to make these prints.

His prints are simply astounding in their intracacy. I used to really enjoy Rembrandt and Monet paintings (low definition paintings) then I saw Albrecht Dürer's prints and now I can't even look at them. Some people are able to appreciate both styles for their unique merits and I envy them.

He has excellent use of space in colours I love how some come from lots of dark at the bottom to less and more whites and spaces as it goes up

My goodness, I don't mind Dürer showing off at all! Wood cut or engraving, he was incredibly precise and talented. I hope he saw himself in the solitary devotion he depicted with St. Jerome. I can't believe the number of fine lines he put into that piece, but it was well worth the effort. ❤

Very good short,simple introduction to A D's print making. Ofcourse his studio was a supreme creator of prints.

Let the woman speak 🗣
@calska140
@calska140 3 года назад
The guy is obviously an expert extolling valuable information while much of the woman's speak has been opinion based so far. Let the expert speak. people pay great sums to attain this knowledge. Just because you're obsessed with the male/female dynamic doesn't mean it's applicable to everything. Stop projecting your biases. You also seem to be mistaking noises of affirmation as started thoughts like an idiot. You people are ruining civilization and taking us back to the tribal stone age. Objectivity is not an outmoded concept. you're obsessed with subjective/immeasurable concepts because they can't be discarded wholesale although they're limited in their usefulness. Its a great way for an idiot to pretend they're intelligent or moral.

They call that a conversation? That was a really obnoxious fellow. But the subject was interesting.

Dürer is fantastic! But why hasn't anyone done a video on Hans Weiditz the Younger? Aka the Petrarch Master? He was often mistaken for Dürer.

I always get annoyed when I realize he's the male speaker in the Khan Academy art videos because he doesn't let her talk in any of the ones I've seen. I like the other guy a lot more because they have an actual conversation. I feel like I can learn more from them.

Right? Like the other guy whose *usually* in these videos actually gives the girl a chance and it feels like they’re really having a conversation, this guy makes me mad
@calska140

What's her education and pedigree? Who is interviewing who here? This is an educational piece not a conversation. Check your prejudices. Besides pretty much everything she said was either just a noise of affirmation or was the very next concept he expanded on. She was paying attention and giving feedback she wasn't trying to interject or bring to light something missed. You don't even understand how people speak. You're just cramming your prejudices down everyones throat just like an ignorant sexist on the opposing side of your value. By the way the subject of the video is an analysis of an art style and the sciences it's founded on. Which are the moorings of the modern world. People emphasizing your thoughts are as smart as cave people and are the reason humanity has existed for 180,000+ years but only have history and science dating back 10,000 years. You would be living in a grass hut throwing rocks at each other if left to your own devices. I only take the pains to mention all this because it seems like no one else is and silence among such prevailing views is complicit acceptance. I don't know about you, but I kind of like not having to spend all day everyday just trying to keep myself fed, safe from being massacred or enslaved by a neighboring tribe, living past 30, and free from animal predation. Which, again, is where you people are leading us back to.

@@calska140 Kind of ironic how easily offended you appear to be for one calling out others for being too easily offended. The majority or "cave people" here seem to agree this is how we speak to each other; maybe it's you who is confused and not as self aware as you had supposed.
