You're welcome Javier I'm glad you liked the review. I really like them although I'm a bit torn between the EJ45FF Normal Tension and the EJ46FF High Tension that were originally fitted to my Taylor Academy 12e-N Nylon String Guitar I reviewed the EJ46FF High Tension Carbon Strings here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XJeiJxTbT_s.html

Great review of these strings. So you have taught me to look at the string tension pounds. I am currently using D'Addario Proart EJ46 Hard Tension strings. the total set tension is 89.94 I'll assume that is pounds. The normal tension strings I have used but not on this guitar (they will buzz) are D'Addario EJ45-3D with a string tension of 85.85. So really not that much different. I can tell you that I like the sound of your guitar with the normal tension strings. Much warmer in my opinion. It is hard to believe that there is very little difference pound wise in the two strings I have used. They are not carbon fiber. but only 3 pounds difference in tension. But the normal tension strings will buzz on this Cordoba the way it is set up. Sooo. I have got to find a good classical guitar luthier some how. But it may not make much difference?? Thank you so much for the great information my friend. Great video!

You're welcome Morris I'm glad it helped a bit. Yes the tension is pounds. Have you tried putting the EJ45 normal tension strings on the Cordoba?
@mpeltz1534
@mpeltz1534 2 года назад
Yes Alen I have tried the normal tension strings. I get buzzing and even some harmonics. The action must be set too low. It was set up by a steel string luthier. Only guy in town.
@mpeltz1534
@mpeltz1534 2 года назад
My fear is if I raise the action for the normal tension strings it may be harder to play. Haha a catch 22. I bought another saddle since this one is down to nothing. I think the guitar is worth traveling to get it set up correctly. Like your Taylor it is a production made guitar but a good one in my price range. I looked at the Taylor also before I got this one. I have been playing Córdoba guitars for a long time and do like them. But they can have issues.
@AlanRoyHocking
@AlanRoyHocking 2 года назад
@@mpeltz1534 Ahh okay yes in that case you need to find a luthier who knows how to set up a nylon string guitar. It could be just a simple matter of a small adjustment to the truss rod (if it has one) or you need to shim the saddle to raise the action slightly but best done by a professional unless you know what you're doing.
@AlanRoyHocking
@AlanRoyHocking 2 года назад
@@mpeltz1534 Yes catch 22! Raising the saddle will definitely make it harder to play especially up the neck and for barre chords

by the way, Mr. Hocking, i liked this set's G and b, and the basses are awesome, sustaining, agressive in their loud point, very good timbre palette, clear, they last very nicely, the high E is excellent, the warmest carbon E i've found, but i would like a bit more brightness and durability, less tension in that string as well, do you recommend replacing the E string for a Knobloch or Savarez Alliance normal tension? I thank you, and i await for your answer, greetings. I actually strung up a smaller scale length guitar with the full D'Addario Carbon normal tension set, except for the high E string, which is a Savarez Alliance hard tension, and since my next guitar will be based upon this smaller guitar (Around 61 - 62 cm in scale), i thought i could replicate this set in a 65 cm scale but with a normal tension Savarez Alliance E string.
@AlanRoyHocking
@AlanRoyHocking 3 года назад
Hi Javier, you could try but I haven't tried a different E string so can't really say what affect it would have on your guitar. The Knobloch CX Carbon Double Silver Actives are lower tension than the D'Addario EJ45FF Carbon Strings. I like the D'Addario EJ45FF Carbon Strings the way they are, they seem to compliment the Lutz Spruce top and Sapele back and sides of my Taylor Academy 12e-N nicely although I do prefer the feel and sound of the Knobloch Strings. 😊

How do you find the venerable EJ45 nylon basses compared to the carbon set basses?
@AlanRoyHocking
@AlanRoyHocking День назад
Hi Paul. The D'Addario EJ45FF Carbon Strings have what they call "Dynacore" basses, which to my ears are brighter and project more than the basses of the standard EJ45 nylon strings

@@AlanRoyHocking Hi Alan, thank you! I am looking for a bass string set that is a bit warmer sounding than my Savarez HT Cantiga basses, which sound to harsh to me now. I use Alliance HT carbon trebles.

Hi, my current classical is very low end borderline boomy and I'm looking for a way to brighten up my trebles. I'm using ej44s and the bass tension is quite high but the trebles are lower tension than Augustine medium. You reckon these carbon strings could help? Maybe titanium too? Thanks man.
@AlanRoyHocking
@AlanRoyHocking Год назад
Hi, Carbon strings will definitely brighten up your guitar. Titanium strings are midway between nylon and carbon in tone and brightness. A higher tension will also be louder and brighter

@@AlanRoyHocking Hey, I'm still having to retune here and there until the strings settle but titanium seems to have fixed my problems with the guitar! I don't know what's the deal with EJ44s but they were compressing all of my trebles, now I'm getting the sound I wanted. They are still not louder than the bass strings but that's fine I'm even getting more overtones now, now I feel like the guitar is singing. I don't know what's wrong with those strings maybe it's just my guitar and those were not meant for spruce and rosewood but it sure beats the guitar being the issue xD.
