It's the morning after the big storm hit Washington D.C. and I bike around the city showing you some of the damage, with downed trees, busted power lines and more than a few cars crushed.

But you were not living in the neighborhoods of the o.01 Percent. . . They wait and hire out that type of WORK. . . With this much damage the People who would grab that type of WORK are already busy to the tenth power...except maybe for the persons who stepped up to do the Cathedral Trees. Here in Virginia about two hours Away the storm line took down 50,000 power customers. Normally between electric lineman, tree crews at least 10,000 would be in the District this Morning, but now it will be two to three days before they move out.

P6, that smell of pine, is what is smell like after a strong tornado goes through a town. A good deal of storm chasers can't stand the smell of pine, because it brings back bad memories for them. Seeing this it remines me of what happen to Haddonfield, NJ on the July 4, a pop-up T-Storm produced a microburst that knocked down about 60 trees.

Heartbreaking to see the ancient, for the usa, trees down like this. We've been losing a lot of old trees in southern NY state.😢 stay safe!

This damage is very sad! Especially with trees that have stood for many decades that were nice and huge and hopefully no lives have been lost.

Andrew! Hey man you’re in my neighborhood filing these past two days! You tube suggested the video - knew we knew each other I guess!

Thanks for showing the storm affected areas. Where are all the power lines workers, cops (along with barricades/ safety cones), fire crews, local council workers for roads etc or volunteers. Besides this being one of the wealthiest residential neighbourhoods in the US, and minutes from the capital - there was only 4 or 5 crews clearing tress and at least 3 of these were on private properties (like the VP’s) and not looking after the trees blocking roads or those which had fallen over cars and power lines etc. Here in Australia there would be all sorts of govt agency crews on clean up, plus the SES (state emergency services) &/or CFA (country fire authority) both made up of paid staff and many volunteers, as well as the local residents (but in your case contractors or staff).

I was thinking the same thing. I live in Arkansas and we get storm damage a lot. There are always police and fire wherever there are downed power lines. They keep onlookers and vehicles out of the area. Cars don’t just keep driving down an affected street or area. These were very surreal images to me -seeing the absence of much municipal service response! Even the car in the road all by itself with the tree in it and the driver side door open hours after the event! That was bizarre.

Some effects of very strong winds (wonder what they were) and not enough dirt for the trees to establish deep roots. All those roots are top soil to get what ever water they cab get. Such a shame. Beautiful old trees. I’d bet some were a hundred yrs old. Thanks P6.
