Also small note for how to deceive your party a bit easier; Talk to your DM that you want to, make sure they know what you're going for - I'm sure if they're at all devious, they'll go for it - but as well, ask them if it'd be okay for yourself to claim that you have a "Hat of Disguise" (www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/hat-of-disguise ) even though you don't. This way, whenever you want to change shape, explain to your DM that you'll say something along the lines of "I'm going to use Hat of Disguise to make myself look like..." however meanwhile, this would be direct code for yourself for using your changling change shape feature. Most of this will come down to your IRL deception and performance - otherwise known as acting - so best of luck.
It's a pretty great tool to be had for sure, well worth a sub if you can afford. My only issue with it is that I can't create new classes - can make subclasses for existing - I understand why, just trying to find a way to work on new things and be able to share them with ppl easier besides a word doc. Lol
I love the gloom stalker, however I still have issues with the baseline ranger class - the new UA additions have been lovely if you hadn't checked them out.
@@thedruidicbjorn5431 I have and I always try to talk my way into using their favored enemy rules but you have to admit being invisible in darksight is amazing for an assassin.
@@23tracy91 100% for sure it is, if you ever DM I will on occasion just give it to a special assassin type creature or person because I have in the past had people believe dark vision is the end all be all - while it's not imo. Also it's perfect for obviously the underdark, evading 99% of everything down there is insanely broken lmao
@@23tracy91 I also like the idea of talking to your prey - reminds me a lot of the witcher and reasoning with "monster" types. I wish more of my players would but eh is what it is
@@thedruidicbjorn5431 yeah, honestly I'm a changeling Mastermind and I'm attempting not to fight at all. If I need to kill I use poison, with the allowance of my DM. So far it's a lot of fun trying to talk myself out of every issue. It's like playing d&d on hard mode, haha. Love your videos so far!
