Capsaicin activates taste receptors in mammals, avians and reptiles, but activates pain receptors that only mammals have. So realistically, reptiles can enjoy spicy foods for their flavor without worrying about pain
What's great about a character like Bitsy is one moment she can be completely dumb, and the next shockingly smart. She's so strange you never know what to expect from the little mouse.
@xxradenftwxx3425 I love the idea that benson is only worried that mordecai might get the park in a scandal. "BURY THE BODY PROPERLY OR YOU'RE FIRED!"
It almost a blessing in a way, like it makes it even better, it’s as if Bitsy knows far too much for her own good but doesn’t know where she got this information from and why/how she has it
It was the same for me playing one of my characters. Luckily though she was a college of lore bard so throwing around the letters of IRL philosophers names and quoting them made sense.
I think the problem is that Medicine should have always been an Intelligence check not a Wisdom check in D&D. Bitsy is an herbalist who would know how chemicals work to be effective, but the rules of the game make it so she can have terrible intelligence and yet still be a decent doctor (mechanically she's a monk btw, so Wisdom's probably her second highest stat) 😅 In my own games, I've homebrewed to have Religion and Medicine swapped since it makes way more sense in my head that Religion should require Wisdom whereas Medicine should require Intelligence--that way it doesn't lead to characters knowing medicine but not knowing how they know about it like Bitsy, as hilarious as it is 🥴
Oh THAT’S why the lizard man made a stilted pop-culture reference! I didn’t put two and two together on that one until I saw his design in this video lol
I LOVE the concept of a Gex-like character who only makes the worst, most poorly-aged references. "This is almost like babysitting with Woody 'Woodpecker' Allen!" "That's the LAST time I eat ice cream with Bill Craw-sby."
I absolutely believe that Mitzy has knowledge she doesn't even know or knows how she knows and was just as confused and taken off guard when she said the capsaicin thing
That bit where Derek breaks through the 4th wall about Capsaicin like the Kool-Aid Man, but then stays in-character when others at the table ask for verification of his information OOC? THAT is why he’s my favorite dude!
@@LocoRoco2009 Bitsy is so adorable, that anything happens to her is funny, though also makes you feel bad for laughing. Plenty of Bitsybuse in their sessions. Should animate the part where Bitsy gets kicked down stairs by Captain Bigsby.
@@bazookablastoff6447gex was a lizard protagonist from the Game gex. it was a platform release in 1995 that had a rocky development and never really got popular
Also fits with the Gex-like parody character. They seem to know alot about 90s video game culture, seeing as they referenced F-Zero, (in one of the holiday one shots) and Banjo Kazooie before too.
The thing I took away from this is that Derek's mind is like if you crossed a bingo tumbler with a junk drawer: There's all KINDS of weird random shit in there just bouncing around, and you have no idea what's going to pop out. And also, that Evil Mike face is terrifying.
