Tree Spirit= Dead Wizard: Bonfire Paladin: i swear i will smite you Druid: crying in the corner One of the best things that i heard so far had to laugh at that
Our Barbarian talks also to his rock--it's purple, named Dave, and his player's last character also had a pet rock named Dave, who apparently "died" before I joined the campaign. I have no explanation.
@@spirallingooc it is magic and it imitates my magic and I am a sorceress so I am squishy so he is named squishy (one of the friends from the campaign recommended that name)
@@randomlygeneratedname oh. I was asking because in fnaf (five nights at freddy's) there's a character named Old Man Consequences. He's a red, pixelated, humanoid crocodile.
can't it explicitly states that the first one crumbles back to snow as soon as the second version of the spell resolves, specifically to stop this type of thing, lol. Oh, and the True polymorph only lasts for one hour, so that won't actually work either. :D As a DM you need to know how to close the loopholes.
1:49 _Not a violation of RAW_ - *but it is a violation of RAI.* When you cast simulacrum - you automatically destroy any other simulacrum you had active. This indicates that wotc never intended you to be able to make an army of clones: what they didn't take into consideration is the use of true polymorph - which polymorphing creature (simulacrum) into another creature (whatever you happen to be) makes it no longer a simulacrum. Given that the simulacrum spell text clearly attempted to prevent clone armies - we can irrefutably determine - that the use of true polymorph was an oversight and that this exploit is a violation of rules as intended, even if not technically a violation of rules as written.
But ultimately, it's up to the DM, because they have all the say on the rules. Meaning as written or intended, Wizards of the Coast don't have any actual say in how it's used, or how the DM takes the wording. They can only offer guidelines to follow.
@@xellanchaos5386 Quote *"it's up to the DM"* Every game is, the DM has final say including extensive house rules if they so decide. For my part I'm a Rules Lawyer - the intricacies of game mechanics are what I like most about D&D. My previous DM and I sat down and made a 3.5 hybrid campaign after we got sick of how watered down and cookie cutter 4e was, the results came pretty close to what 5e is today but with the added bonus of all the variety of classes and races and templates and spells which 3.5 has and 5e does not.
Aight I have a funny idea for wizard. A wizard who have minmaxed charisma and intelligence You're smart as fuck and can get all the bitches, but nothing else
My drow necromancer with a 12 charisma in a city of mild-to-severe racists convinced a group of nobles to storm the bedroom of a king I was having a disagreement with. I'm now friends with several merchants and the king owes me a large favor. Dnd is great
@@dragonjames4500 I have another wizard and I made her highest stat charisma (2nd highest intelligence). She got through an entire quest not fighting anyone or casting magic by talking her way out of everything. Very fun way around my low HP
I made a gnome wizard who focused on evocation, flunked out of wizard school, and is just a smaller more ADHD version of myself. I wanted to express just how silly evocation can be like Olituk’s resilient sphere: a hamster ball that only a high level dispel magic or disintegrate spell would break it. Or Bigby’s hand, might seem like a bigger and beefier version of mage hand but it’s EVOCATION!
"How in the world did you convince him to do that without physical violence?" "I, uh... showed him a loofah, convinced him it was a cleaning weapon, and i told him to attack the dirt on his own body." "Simple, and effective. Very impressive. I don't think i would've come up with that." "I mean... you don't stand behind him in the marching order, so..." When your sanity is worth risking getting bludgeoned by a barbarian...
Race: Any small Class: Sorcerer Spells: Find familiar, Enlarge/Reduce Twin spell to make you tiny, and the family (preferably a flying one) small. Free flying mount. You're welcome.
@@crimsonflame2k yeah i mean he didnt cast it himself though its a spell from like a wizard group that he provided service for so thats cool it was said the second time they saw him
Why cast true polymorph to turn into an average member of your race (as far as i know you cannot true polymorph into someone specific, but only an average member of a race)? And besides the DM might rule that your simulacrum now turned into an average humane creature (or yourself if the DM allows it) still cannot regain spell slots. So, what are you going to do? Since you are at least a 17th level wizard, first take True Polymorph and Wish as your 9th level spells. Cast a Simulacrum then have it cast Wish to cast another Simulacrum spell targeting you. You now have a new simulacrum with a Wish spell ready. Have it cast a new Simulacrum again targeting you. Repeat until you ran out of 1500 gold per simulacrum or sooner. Then you as the original caster cast True Polymorph on each simulacrum (this could take days depending on how many simulacra you have created) turning them each into an Adult Silver Dragon or any other type that with Change Shape ability) - it now can polymorph between a dragon and a humane (not simulacrum) form. Now, you have a (small) army of loyal dragons sans yourself (that can hide in humane form, if need be). You are welcome.
*Cries in never having played my Halfling Wizard yet.* Also i know the Wizard M.O is basically spamming Fireball but i have to cry-laugh at my headcanon of pyrophobia for him due to his backstory i thought up.
Sounds Sorta like my ranger. Undead horde attacked his village as a kid and left him both mentally and physically scarred. DM has me roll wisdom save every time we encounter undead enemies and if it fails he’s catatonic until someone slaps him awake or an hour or so passes. We just started Tomb of Annihilation so that’s gonna be super fun.
@@MrSlashbash Haha nice. Oh & yeah i think that's how i'd play his fear of fire. He's ok with it in a normal situation, campfires at night etc, he might need shaking out of a stupor after staring at it for too long however. On the other side of the coin, in combat he has a chance of going catatonic if someone shoots a fire based spell at/near him.
That's the main reason why I chose abjuration. Sometimes, Shield and Mage Armor just can't be enough. I even made my wizard a loxodon just so he gets more hit points and better concentration saves. I haven't played him yet, but already at level one, with the god grace of having my constitution higher than my wisdom, my wizard has 10 hit points.
continuing to point out one of the major downsides of my mouse-wizard I mentioned on the druid edition my mouse-wizard who killed a tarrasque mostly on his own (including his mouse familiar) he was just a fun character that had like 0.1% chance to survive in my DMs world without rez magic... with a whooping 2hp he beat the odds to reach lv 20... while none of the original other characters ever got close... second highest of the original main 4 was level 6 while the 3rd closest was level 4... the rest died at 3 and he did that within 1.8yrs ingame because the mouse my character was cursed to be was an african pygmy mouse and when he reached 20 it was a heartbreaking moment, as my character died of old age while my mouse-wife watched me die while she knew as a different species of mouse that she now was left alone for the remaining... 4 mouse years left of her own life... it was truly tragic, my party set me out to sea in a small raft made with fine cheese...
First one, why do I feel like this Wizard constantly quotes Harry Dresden. Specifically the opening line of Blood Rites. "The building was on fire and it wasn't my fault"
I was in a campaign where nobody in the party had any means of creating fire, yet literally every single building we entered inevitably burnt down, usually while we were still in it.
@@kevinboyle3104 I tried to look up Tayloresings and I got a lot of Tik Tok videos. But Tayloresings sounds like a dude, and the person who sings the strange counting song sounds like a girl.
2:57 I know I've heard this before but i cant remember what series/abridged series it was.... I think it was one of the actual series Maybe its something I haven't seen.
Storm The Gryphie it is. Dragon Ball Z Abridged by TeamFourStar. The cell saga. Absolutely amazing. Vegeta is fighting Cell and is super cocky cuz he just came out of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
0:57 would the wizard need to copy the spellbook too? or just hand over the spellbook to the Pinocchio double for it to cast the two spells and pass it down the chain? You make a bunch of copies of your 17th level wizard, but you only have one spellbook. You'd need to factor in the budget materials for 17 copied spellbooks
EthalaRide The copies would probably have all the spells you have prepared that day so if they wanted more spells they would need more spell books but it takes half the cost and half the time if you’re copying your own spell book
My Wizard hand made Simulacrums, which then used a modified Magic Jar to transfer consciousness. One stole the body of Arkham the Cruel, and could regain skits, but was just better. Upgrades people
I think sorcerer w/ Dragonborn is pretty good if you give it a decent dex b/c the Sorcerer isnt proficient in any armor types and Dragonborn makes your AC 13+dex modifier so if you have a good dex you are a decently high AC Sorcerer even w/o armor
“A kobalt, halfling or gnome wizard can cast reduce on them self, then cast mage hand and float off”. Or.... they could cast fly... Yes it’s a higher tier spell but it only takes one slot and you aren’t restricted to 1/4th of the races...
hey so this probably not the place to ask this but this topic relates to the theme of the video: so I've been trying to make a tiefling wizard as my first character but when i realized how little health they have i knew i would have to find a way to boost their health hell i even made constitution their highest stat with a max hp of 11 but there are things that can kill the character in one or two shots so i would like peoples advice on how to boost my wizards hp
When you can, look into taking the tough feat. It gives you +2 HP per level you have, & you get +2 more HP every time you gain a level in the future. If you're really that concerned with it, you could make abjuration your specialty, though I'd suggest just avoiding damage in the first place.
