With the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Normandy Landings around the corner, I thought it would be good to share some of the spots I've visited along the beaches and share some history too. This route takes us from West from Cherbourg all the way East to the Merville Battery, with plenty of stops along the way! If you're planning a motorcycle tour or otherwise to Normandy, hopefully this video serves as an inspiration and a guide of some of the different sites awaiting you.
It should also be noted that this wasn't all one day! I'd say take two or three sites a day to give yourself enough time to enjoy it, and stop for much needed water breaks. The roads I took on my Royal Enfield Daisy Bell were generally around 70kph/45mph, which is perfect Bullet speed 👌. And as I say in the video, there's much more out there to see, consider this a jumping off point! Can't exactly show you everything in the museums or surrounds, so get out there and explore, and let me know how you get on!
If this video hasn't satiated your appetite, check out this playlist I made of each video where I visited sites relating to Operation Overlord:
