Enjoy our visitor's guide to the bunker sites, memorials, and buildings on the Omaha Beach D-Day landing area in Normandy.
Located around the towns of Colleville-sur-Mer, St-Laurent-sur-Mer, and Vierville-sur-Mer, Omaha was the landing site for thousands of US troops on June 6, 1944 and features many large gun casemates, shelters, observations posts and multiple machine gun positions - many of which can be visited today.
In this video you'll get to see the landing beach sites as they are today, with our exclusive drone footage and walkthroughs of bunker sites, plus close-up views of the guns still remaining inside their bunkers.
More info on Omaha Beach bunker sites, including site maps and directions so you can visit, can be found on our website - www.normandybunkers.com

What an awesome video, loved it and thanks for sharing. Also a frightening reminder of just how many lives were lost and on both sides. And as a race it's a shame some people still don't learn from the sacrifices made. Great work guys! 🙏

In 85, on a mbike visit, we visited Omaha cemetery. Just below, then, atop a gun bunker there had been a US Engineer memorial. To its side, down in the sand, found a couple of bullet heads, clearly American, which must've been fired on that day. Also found a couple at the Merville Battery site. You didn't need (banned) detectors, the stuff was there.

Was there last year .On a tour . So emotional , hard not to shed a tear . But it seems like we will never learn , war is pointless , only the innocent shed the blood for the will of a few tyrants . Everyone should see the sacrifice of these guys , gave their lives for freedom . But now certain ones want too still take it away . So the sacrifice they gave , many miles from home is now threatened . Two world wars later and it seems not to matter , no one seems to learn . Great vid .

Too shame that in these constructions, there are people who paint, leave trash and so, not have in mind that human lifes where given for freedom in exactly same spots, 80 years ago...

@@normandybunkers Indeed, whilst visually awesome, with the remnant bunkers, etc, as can be seen at Merville, and more, in towards Bayeux /Caen, the beaches were just the beginning...

Grandpa was in japan and he said it used to be to be a joke amongst the guys in Saipan. Saying if those army boys dont take germany theyre gonna send in marines to get the job done. Till they got told what went down.

These pictures give me chills andake me so thankful those brave soldiers gave us our chances to continue to live. Does anyone know how long it took or the years the German army had to build all the defense bunkers, turret areas? It's cement and barbed wire. How long did construction take?
