I recently started reading "And No Birds Sang" by Farley Mowat, so it was so neat to hear you speak at the start of this episode about his landing in Italy! We love this documentary!
Excellent episode. The sound effects in the background further enhanced what the soldiers had to endure. It was an emotional moment how Italians lives were not taken and how the village was not attacked to destroy history. Hats off to the men in charge that proved our military was not there to take lives, only to accomplish the goal set out for them. Lives were lost on both sides but not factored in as a goal. Excellent clip Roger - emotional in many ways, especially what our heroes had to endure, being without food and water for days along with the heat. Some of this runs parallel with what my father had to endure. Looking forward to next clip.

Roger, Thank You so much for your hard work and effort. I have only just come upon your series. Excellent series! My father, Pte Ronald J. Wray of Hamilton ON, was a rifle/signal man, with The Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment of Canada and participated in the Sicilian Campaign. He was later captured in Italy and remained a POW for the remainder. He "NEVER" spoke of the war. I look forward to watching the remainder. "Pro Patria" Brother.
