If only the bombers on DDay had been remotely this accurate, it would have made a huge difference. Most of the bombs just landed inland or harmlessly in the channel.

It's why I said most landed inland OR harmlessly in the channel.....I don't think 30,000 French civilians were swimming in the English Channel. Landing inland is a separate statement from harmlessly in the water......

Yup. The admiral didn't trust the new radar system and was worried that the bombers would strike the fleet, so he ordered them to drop over the beachhead, which cost a lot of American lives that day.

The title says it is from the Axis perspective. Mores specifically, it is from the perspective of those two Asian men who had been through a hack of an adventure just getting here. So this may be more of what it felt like to them than what it felt like to the Americans.

Well, I know this is probably the wrong channel to say that but: Actually, German troops in Omaha beach was smaller than expected. Historical filming shows how little resistance was found as Hitler's army was focusing efforts on eastern front during that time against soviets. Outnumbered after suffering heavy losses in Kursk and Stalingrad, Hitler was forced to retreat the war efforts after D-Day to Berlin. Which just prove that point of a heavily holywoodian view on that "alliance" where only soviets put 34 MILION solders against 14 million from US and UK COMBINED...
@TCODESERTSTORM

I honestly have really bad concerns on why people want to depict Naz1 army as "poor babies" and "poor hitler... if wasn't the concentration camps..." almost like that. So many wrong stuff on that depiction of a "romanticized view" on what was only pure fascist bloody regime. The scape goat of the capitalists you might say. Despite the "social" in Naz1 name, there's just big rich people getting more and more... "Oh hi BMW!" or "hey Porsche! How's going after ww2 huh? feels good?!" Go watch man stuff! Go watch "come and see". Then tell me those poor german boys was up about.

Well, What I meant is that weird attempts to show the n4zl regime as "poor guys" since 2000... the adoration of the "tech" and "development" almost sayin "IF wasn't the concentration camps... I'd adore Hitler" almost like that. In other hand, portraying US and UK as the true heroes of the war... well, berlin was dominated by soviets and the soviet flag was put on the Reichstag as far as I remember. @@ripvanwinkle1819

This movie is not about a Japanese German soldier. It is the story of a Korean guy who was forced to serve in the Japanese army. It is a movie that criticizes being forced to die for nothing on the battlefield by warmongers. If you want a historical war movie, you can watch "Saving Private Ryan." Every movie is fiction, even if it is based on a real story. Shouldn't the audience focus on what the producer wants to say?

Why didn't the US bombers fly parallel with the coast rather than perpendicular? Wouldn't this increase the chances of actually hitting their targets? Were any dive bombers (like the SBD Dauntless) actual used once the invasion started? Just a few direct hits on the beach defenses would have made a huge difference. Also why didn't the ships fire "smoke" shells onto the beach just prior to the LCTs reaching it? This would have given the troops a much better chance.

People often talk about the Allied, but, I'll still say the same for the Axis' situation, still brave men died protecting and defending their sadistic leader's ideology. 80 years ago, Bands of Brothers, thousands and millions of them from different territories, though from different parents, participated in a fight for peace and freedom, not just for one nation, but the entire world in one of world's bloodiest wars, and the turning point completely changed the scope of global perspectives, economy, evolution, development, technological advancement, political and diplomatic framework, entertainment and world beliefs of peace and harmony; thus, the birth of a New World and Order that we lucky people are living with, experiencing with, enjoying with, and taking advantages and granted with. Yes, 80 years ago, them Brothers banded together, became the defenders, the protectors of many generations, embarked on a journey to the dark plains, to afar, to places they've never been too, unfamiliar with, and remotely dangerous, terrains that break the most ordinary of men; 80 years ago, with guts of steel, although afraid of the inevitable that might be the end of them and their lives, the fear of never to see their loved ones forever, that the dark might swallow them all, and chaos breaking lose, and deaths awaiting, but those brave souls became the guardians of every edge of the world, faced whatever that was coming to them without slightest of remorse nor doubt, fought on, pushed on, forward with utter courage and spirit; as Companies of Heroes with nothing but sweat, blood and ever threatening fear and despair in mind, "When will all end? When can I see them again? When will the next Home Coming Be? To smell the essence of love, the aromas of spring and the fresh salty breeze of the Sun and beaches, the beautiful view of sunsets, the tasty loaf of home made pastries and savouries". Questions that never came true to the answers they seek, gone with their breaths, forever.. Only because of their selfless acts, charging towards bullet raining machine gun fires, artillery bombings, enemy bayoneting, fragged fields and horrible stenches of the loss, despite all, they pushed forward, fought on, believed in the future, their next of kins, the generations to come, the wonderful changes the people of the future witness and live by. 80 years ago, hadn't Bands of Brothers sacrificed their lives for the future, there'd be no peace and progress. They closed, shut their eyes tight in pain and sufferings, so that we can keep our eyes open for many more beautiful sights and views waiting for us in many more years to come. Because you gave your lives for us to live with ours, we hope to commemorate and remember your great acts and services, and we want you to know that we are sincerely; eternally grateful for everything. With highest respect, utmost truthfully, Salutes to Companies of Heroes, of Brothers. All in all, no words can express, truly and greatly how great all of you were, our greatest saviors, our heroes; but with the heartiest and utmost gratitude, with Honor - ~THANK YOU .. THANK YOU.. THANK YOU. ~🪖🕊️💐✌🏽🥺
