One of the most crucial objectives after the successful initial invasion was to ensure the delivery of even more troops and supplies to the front lines.

This was easier said then done. Large ships were needed to support these demands and due to all the controlled beachheads having shallow waters, they wouldn’t be able to get close enough to shore. As a result, supplies from the US had to be transported to ports in Britain, unloaded, waterproofed again, and then loaded onto smaller boats, a time-consuming process that the allies could not afford.

2:57 If the British government was publicly appealing for photos of French beaches, wouldn't that be a tip off of what was coming and where? I guess it would depend how specific this request was; frankly, I have never heard about this particular aspect leading up to D-Day. I would really like a bit more information on how and when (how far in advance) this appeal was made. Learn something new everyday....
