My indulgence has always been to learn new techniques on making handmade flowers with variety of materials, not just limited to fabrics. Hence in this video, I tried to make these gorgeous roses out of dried Corn Husks. We normally throw away such husks as waste, however waste isn't waste, until we waste it. The flowers are eco-friendly and zero waste. I had great fun making these roses, hope you too will enjoy making them.

I boiled husk for about 10 minutes into water mixed with food coloring and let it dry for sometime till it get soft and ready to work on. Thank you so much for your interest and appreciation. Happy Crafting.

Try to use the husk from middle section of corn. They are easy to mould into the desired shapes.

It's beautiful.. I wanna make one for wedding decor.. After you make the flowers does it shrink or change color? I will it make it weeks prior coz it takes a lot of time to make one... I hope you can answer my concern.Thanks!

I used food colouring to color the husk. Mix few drops of color in water n let in boil for sometime, put the husk in n let it simmer for 5-7mins. Once the husk observes color , dry it in the Sun or in any airy places. That's it. But it's not necessary to use only food colouring, you may use any fabric coloring agents that is available with you. Happy Crafting.❤️

Can we do this flower even if the husk is fresh and wet condition???

I don't think. Coz once the husk dries it tends to get starchy n it get easy to manipulate in desirable form whereas raw husk will be rigid n won't be easy to give proper shapes to flowers you want.
