That sure is a pretty tube! Way back in 1981 the EE students at CMU were adding LEDs to the base of those to use as decorations! Some got all extravagant and added 555 timers to make them blink. The orange leds were the brightest at that time.

It's often the little things we overlook, and there's no shame in getting a second (or 3rd, 4th, 5th... 🫡) point of view. So glad it's working now, and I think the addition of the keying board and red transmit light are great enhancements!

Hi just wondering about the filiment chock the very same one is used in the Heathkit SB200 and there is artical on the SB200 and it was calculated that the chock is 10uh and to low in value for 2x 572b on the 80m band and should be at least 20uh. I have a SB200 and changed out the chock for a ferrite ring FT240/31 and using 14 awg wire wound 14 turns which gives me .25mh and works great
