There seems to be many people asking why Daesung/ D-Lite (or bigbang for that matter) keeps releasing MVs in a shorter version. Like most other Japanese MVs released by their agencies such as AVEX, short versions or PVs (Promotional video), intends to give audiences a preview or a 'sneak peak' of the song and MV. Consider it a form of advertisement; if they can get you to like their PVs, then there is a higher chance that you'll end up buying their actual album. Korean agencies tend to release a full MV version and though they may want you to buy their album, that's up to you. Japanese agencies try to encourage you strongly to buy their albums through PVs; you want the full MV? then go buy it. Reason why all of BigBang's Japanese MVS are short is because YG partnered with AVEX and since AVEX are handling the promtions in Japan, any Japanese MVs are being promoted using 'their' method. In my opinion, the Korean marketing strategy is more effective. Showing the full MV is more likely to increase the popularity and attention for the artist and unless the MV is really, really good, it often isn't a big factor as to whether a person will buy the album or not. There are also other sites that have the full version uploaded so in the end, I just don't think there is much advantages in releasing a short version. Just my opinion. and sorry for the long post. ^^
