watching them in concert is INSANE. If you wonder about the way he does those noises, The Charismatic Voice uploaded a video where they put a camera down his throat and watched what his vocal folds do and all that. It was a very interesting watch.

Check out the charismatic voice channel where Elizabeth takes will to have a camera put up his nose and down his throat so scientists can see what is going on. It's long but very interesting on how healthy his vocals are.

When Dallas said she hadn't found metal that she just loves, it made me think about Alter Bridge - Words Darker Than Their Wings from the Royal Albert Hall. They played a concert with a symphony orchestra, and it's absolutely fantastic!

When it comes to deathmetal, lyrics are mostly secondary. Beautiful as they are. The vocals are more meant to act as another instrument. Another tone in the composition. Especially on a first listen. Kudos though for stickin with it and trying to understand. 🔥🤘😁🤘🔥

Will’s particular screaming style is called Goblin vocals, and he’s one of the very few vocalists that does them in the scene. He’s actually an extremely versatile vocalist, he has some videos on his RU-vid channel where he does clean singing

The transition between “Pins and needles” and “Trapped” drives me insane. I’ve been singing for 25 years, and learning to scream and growl has become my white whale. It’s amazing what Will is capable of. Incredible vocalist, and completely self-taught.

Hey, that was fun to watch. Thanks! :) Will is something else. :) I like Sun//Eater even better. Wonder, what you would say to Cattle Decapitation's "Scourge of the Offspring" or Archspire's "Golden Mouth of Ruin". As you"re still looking for some Metal to love, you might want to check out Melodic Death Metal. My favorite are Insomnium. Their song "Heart like a Grave" is simply beautiful and really hits hard in the feels.

You guys should have done the original music video that wicked round of snarls at the end has so much more impact on that version. Beyond that. You need to do the Pain Remains Trilogy from Lorna Shore. It's bound to make at least one of you cry. just make absolutely sure that you do the music videos, all three parts are masterpiece quality work, both on the music, and the video. I recently had some trauma in my life, and I heard the first note of Pain Remains I Dancing like Flames, and completely lost my composure and had to turn it off. It is a mind blowing set of songs that shake the foundation of what you might think of metal as a whole.

Haha yes we both do. The first time we recorded we didn’t have anything else to drink, so we grabbed a few and now for some reason whenever we listen to music we crave an ice cold Capri Sun (pacific cooler of course) 😊

I highly recommend "The Pain Remains" trilogy. Watch all three music videos in a row. It's a masterpiece. Not only is Will one of the best vocalists in the metal community, the rest of the band are experts at their crafts as well. I also highly recommend watching his collab with The Charismatic Voice where they stick a camera down his throat. It may give some insight in to what he is doing and how.

There is actually a super cut video that has all 3 videos spliced together one after the other and it also has subtitles for all 3 parts at the bottom so you can follow along with the vocals. If you do watch them/it and end up liking it I would recommend checking out (even on your own time) the live full band playthrough of the PR Trilogy the band dropped less than a month ago, it’s amazing to watch as well

If you want to watch how he does these vocals then go to The Charismatic voice where they actually put a camera down his throat ( through his nose) and you can see what his vocal cords are doing while singing like this. It’s super cool and educational to watch! Highly recommend it for you guys to watch!

I also drink Capri suns by the pool listening to Lorna Shore. And my neighbors do too even if they didnt agree to it. I think the next project should be the Pain Remains trilogy, parts 1, 2 and 3. It will show you an emotional rollercoaster. Watch the cinematic videos WITH the lyrics like stop and read the lyrics now and again. But warning have your tissue box ready.

While I highly encourage you to check out more Lorna Shore/Will Ramos, cuz the whole band is crazy talented, but if you're looking for some metal to fall in love with as a non metal head, check out Nightwish's Ghost Love Score Live at Wacken 2013, you will be completely blown away.

You should watch operation throatcamera with him and Elisabeth from the charismatic voice. In that you will also see a lot of his personality and he is like a Golden Retriever❤ The result of the video made him an addition to a voicelearning study on university level as he,according to that research centre is as unique as a unicorn 😂 He is considered the most versatile metal vocalist as of now ans also has insane cleans. I feel like if you want to start yourself off with “metal” a lot less extreme, I’d go for stuff that kinda teeters the line a little bit. Like I’d say go for old Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce the Veil, Memphis May Fire, or The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus! I’m gonna get shit for calling a few of them metal lol, but they are great gateways!

YES! Been listening to deathcore since 2004 and a lot of my favorite songs and bands are older but jeez does Will and this modern LS excite me! I used to have to hand pick certain bands/vocalists and what I wanted to hear (Suffokate had the insane lows, always thought Beneath The Sky had some of the craziest highs for example) but here is Will, elite at nearly everything to do with harsh vocals 😍 CJ probably does have more brutal lows but Will is just a jack of all trades and I am so glad he (mostly) is getting the respect and recognition he deserves! To have a camera down his throat and to also provide insight into how he does what he does through vocal lessons and all that… the future of deathcore is BRIGHT and Will WILL lead the way lol. I haven’t practiced vocals in years but surely people cherish advice from the man, I wish I had it 15-20 years ago (Zen Of Screaming was fun though thanks Melissa!)

I really enjoyed how much you enjoyed this. Will does a one take vocal play through of the song "Into The Earth", that is definitely worth a listen if you are interested in hearing the absurdity that is polyphonic overtones while doing harsh vocals. Will does several in the one take, most are pretty brief, but the last breakdown is just bananas. I don't mean it's bananas in the way the last breakdown in To The Hellfire is, it's bananas because it's hard to wrap your head around what you're hearing. I had to listen to the end of the one take of Into The Earth several times, because my brain just could not... even.. with the multiple tones. It's _really_ impressive and confusing in equal measure. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love Will but I can’t listen to Lorna it’s just too heavy. Will has 3 covers chokehold, hypnosis and dancing in the dark plus his own song called riptide and talk about blow your socks off. He does do screams but not like this. He mixes cleans and screams y’all should give those a listen

The trilogy will make you cry. If you get the actual video but with lyrics on it it’ll be so much better. I promise it’s the best 20 minutes you’ll spend. It’ll make so much sense with the words along with the imagery.

Since you’ve already reacted to some of my favourites ( Lorna Shore, Sleep Token, STP) I would like to suggest my other favourite bands who are all very different but amazing: Electric Callboy( from Germany ,Fun&EDM&metal)- Every time we touch or basically anything from 2020- now Nightwish ( from Finland, symphonic metal legends)- Storytime live at Wacken 2013 Jinjer( from Ukraine with female singer)- Pisces live in studio from 2017 Bloodywood( indian folk metal)- Gaddaar or Aaj Ayreon ( progressive metal project from the Netherlands with artist from different bands)- The day that the world breaks down ( not the live version for a first time listen) If you would like a link for any of these suggestions just let me know. I didn’t realise I loved metal until discovering Nightwish 3 years ago and now i’m a convert 😂😂 enjoy new music 🤘🏼

I was never into death core, until this song dropped. Then something clicked and now I’m going back to old school stuff. Some more recent stuff you might like is: “The Poetic Edda” by Disembodied Tyrant & Synestia and “I, the Devourer” by the same bands.

I've seen Lorna Shore in Concert and Will beasted through the whole set with ZERO issues. The BEST deathcore singer alive... Also you need to react to WIll covering hypnosis. You're jaws will literally drop!

Wow People really threw you guys into the deep end with Lorna Shore and Slaughter to Prevail. While i love both not a beginning How metal sound. about something softer like Nightwish or Epica? They are considered Symphonic Metal and are fronted by Sopranos. Theres a lot of gorgeous male and female vocals in Metal. Nightwish Ghost Love Score live at Wacken 2013 and Epica Rivers Live at AFAS LIVE

D: try out Band-Maid. Theyre an all-female Japanese heavy rock band. Absolutely amazing talent, and you cannot go wrong with any of their tracks. Edit: after some more thought, here are some other bands to help ease you into metal and harsh vocals: Jinjer. One of the best bands in metal. It's a right of passage for reaction channels to check out Pisces. Just do it. Thank me later. This may be a rabbit hole. Nightwish. This one absolutely will be a rabbit hole for you both. One of the most beloved bands of all time. The Lords of symphonic metal. Check out any of the songs with Floor as the lead singer. It's impossible not to fall in love with this band. And for a more personal recommendation: Killswitch Engage. My personal gateway into metalcore. I would recommend any song with Howard as the front man. The dude can just deliver both screams and cleans with such power. For a bonus you can check out Signal Fire, which has both of the singers featured on it.

Metal can take a while to hit you, I grew up with Simon & Garfunkle/Bob Seger/James Taylor then onto ACDC.. And while I had heard metal at the time it wasn't for me.. Then in my teenage years picking up the guitar I started to get it, then you just love the heavy stuff. It's the musicianship + the aggresion that you fall in love with.

hi, nice reaction :-). Will and the rest of the band is incredibly talented. Try sun-eater or if you want to be surprised: pain remains I: dancing like flames. the whole pain remains trilogy is fenomenal. And if you're looking for metal you like, try symphonic metal. Nightwish for instance. Try Ghost love score, live from the wacken 2013 concert. It is considered the ideal entry place for symphonic metal. Thanks and see you again.

It’s cool hearing your comment on the breath control. It’s a huge factor and beyond that there’s really not much to it though easier said than done haha, I’ve been practicing what’s called false chords (the screaming) for a little over 6 years now and it’s wild what your vocal chords are capable of. And if you say that this could be the beginning of your metal journey, I implore you to check out anything from Shadow Of Intent. They give off the same kind of vibes but with a whole other beast on vocals. And if you feel you’re curious enough to dive into another type of metal because it seems so far you’ve both only listened to what’s called deathcore. There’s this technical death metal band named Archspire and I’m not gonna spoil anything about them they’re crazy, not scary crazy but fun crazy. Listen to involuntary doppelgänger by them :)

Go in and listen to Tommy Johansson who was a guitarist in Sabaton, do covers of queen, abba, gary more and a lot of others. super talent. Sings like a god, is a multi-instrumentalist, at least 10 instruments, does everything himself. He's amazing.
