WotR, long time no see! This was one of my older projects I was too stubborn to drop completely, and honestly I am glad I didn't, because I had missed vidding my favourite dysfunctional medieval royals. I think this song is pretty perfect for any royal family really, despite its very modern sound, and how they must appear as perfect models and a united family for the common people despite the ugliness that might occur behind the scenes. And ugliness between relatives and in-laws certainly was a daily occurrence where the Plantagenets (& wives) of all ages were involved...
Everyone who knows me a little will know I have certain favourites in the family and I usually tend to take their sides in everything, but with this video I tried to be as impartial as possible, so everyone gets their share of shadiness as portrayed in the show xD (even though history shouldn't make it possible for me to make parallels between EoY and Mistress Shore...but historical inaccuracy and how much it irks me is a topic for another time ^^''). I also tried a somewhat different style of editing (huge inspiration provided by this wonderful ATLA video: • Dollhouse | Zuko & Azula ), so I would very much like to hear what you think of it :)
And last but not least, I hit the 2k wall sometime in August -- WHAT. IN. THE. WORLD. I still have no words for such a number :O thank you so much for all the support and comments, they are always superappreciated! I hope this video can serve as a little thank you ♥

LOVE! I'm also a staunch Ricardian but we all know Richard wasn't perfect; nobody is. This edit is incredible. I love the "Ha!"with Elizabeth Woodvilles expression on her face. This video is a gem ❤

Aw, thanks! The Tudors are pretty complicated and intriguing too, but sometimes I wish showrunners/filmmakers didn't only seem to acknowledge them out of all the British dynasties. The Plantagenets ruled for much longer but there's hardly anything featuring them if compared to all the media attention the Tudors get -- the only ones who got proper attention before TWQ were basically Richard Lionheart and John, and mostly because they are part of the Robin Hood myth ^^

+irydionlover93 Yeah I agree with you.They have a lot show/movie.This is insane.But there is no good movie or show about my baby Henry VII (Forgive me God but I love him so much lmao) I mean they're doing The White Princess but Henry was really bad in that book ugh.Also I wish that we have a show about Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine.They are soo underrated.Or a movie about Richard II and Henry IV.It would be interesting. People should focus other monarchs than Henry VII and his six wives.

Amen to everything! I think Henry VII is quite the interesting character, and despite being a staunch Ricardian I don't think he was as pitch black as some of my more zealous fellows like to portray him ^^ I too am very wary of the TWP adaptation because like you I hated how characters were depicted in that book, but I'm still hoping they might deviate a bit from the source material (like I thought they did to an extent with Richard/Anne, who were a lot more affectionate in TWQ than in TKD, where Richard came across as super shady with her to me xD). And YES, Eleanor of Aquitaine is one of my all-time favourite queens, she should totally have a show of her own with a life so amazing, and not just the brief parenthesis of The Lion in Winter (which I still love tho, especially the Katharine Hepburn version). I also agree that something non-Shakespearean about RII would be pretty awesome, he is another very misunderstood King in my opinion. It's great to find someone who appreciates both dynasties! :)

+irydionlover93 Yeah,I think people should understand both of them ; Richard and Henry was human.They had their wrong choices and right choise.Richard wasn't evil like in Shakespeare's version and Henry wasn't rapist like in Philippa Gregory's book. I love them both but yeah Henry always have my heart ^^ And oh,The Lion In Winter is amazing.Eleanor really had a interesting life.I'm really happy for find someone Richardian but also respect to Henry ^^ (Meanwhile I'm sorry abt my terrible English)

Don't worry at all about your English, it sounds pretty understandable to me :) (and I'm not a native speaker either). And I guess we all have our particular favourites ^-^ it's pretty nice to be able to talk civilly like this, if there's something that irks me about some Ricardians is their apparent need to right the wrongs done in centuries of vilifying one King (Richard) by completely vilifying another (Henry), I don't think it's fair. Hopefully someday we'll get the adaptations we want! (Even though I'll probably always be a little bitter that TWQ had Gregory as source material and not other more accurate bases because they had a perfect cast there, I loved them all in their roles ^^).

TWQ was made for songs like this, I understand it better now, it could explain some parts of historical inaccuracy XD The style of this video is very beautiful! And every character really had his fair share of screentime (although somehow I was impressed by Elizabeth Woodville most of all, but it's a purely subjective impression). A wonderful video :-)

Haha, yeah, I guess pairing up a more accurate show with a song like this might be weirder, but as it is this was quite fun xD I am actually glad Elizabeth stands out a bit in this for you, because she's not exactly my favourite person in this part of history and if she does it means my goal of impartiality was somewhat achieved :D all in all, thank you so much for your always lovely comments! I keep rewatching this and thinking I finally commented because I can never believe I've yet to comment on this . WELL HERE I FINALLY AM. ONLY FIVE MONTHS LATE. This is the actual definition of a masterpiece. The shadiness, the effects, the parallels {including the historically dubious ones that PG shall never be forgiven for making possible because WHY?} You literally managed to balance every character fairly which is incredibly impressive because we all have favourites and it's so hard not to focus on them. Truly incredible!

(also I keep forgetting to comment on videos I liked if I don't do it immediately these days, so I am definitely way worse than you in that area ;_;). Thank you so much Kim ♥ it makes me real happy that you recognized the effort to balance the characters! Impartiality is very hard for me where some of these people are involved, lol. Also yeah, shade for everyone because the show has the annoying tendency to try and sanctify PG's own favourites in the viewer's eyes, but everyone there had their fair share of faults and mistakes I think. (Nonetheless, I am still hopelessly addicted to these kind of shows, and still looking forward to seeing TWP now...I am a walking contradiction it seems. But seeing Elizabeth being depicted so differently from her book counterpart makes me hope a little...I'll probably be disillusioned pretty soon I guess xD)

THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY SO FREAKING AMAZING!!! god its been so long since I've watched the TWQ and this video just flooded me with memories of these characters, their struggles, their loves and troubles and the song was PERFECT!!! brillant choice of song for these families. You worked so well with the scenes t the song you amazed me I was glued to the screen the whole time. Ahhh, your comments, honestly ♥♥ it indeed seems this show aired a lifetime ago now (when I think it's been 3 years it sounds incredibly weird o.o), but I guess I just love these characters too much to stop vidding them now and then ^-^ I am very happy you agree with my song choice! Questo video è caduto decisamente a pennello! Dopo essermi guardata tutta la s2 di The Hollow Crown ieri, avevo proprio bisogno di vedere un video su TWQ, specialmente un tuo video! (Ora capisco perché la versione Shakespeariana di Richard III non è di tuo gradimento. Sono rimasta shockata D:) Anyway, farei un patto col diavolo per avere 1/10 della tua bravura e del tuo talento! Non capisco come tu possa reputare i miei video belli, quando i tuoi sono capolavori! Mi inchino ai tuoi piedi, e i 2k iscritti sono tutti più che meritati! Anzi, te ne meriteresti anche di più!! Il video è davvero stupendo, e sono contenta che tu abbia deciso di non accantonarlo e di portarlo a termine - ne è valsa assolutamente la pena e sarebbe stato un vero peccato lasciarlo inconcluso! Tutti dovrebbero ammirare cotanta meraviglia!! u.u Gli effetti al testo che hai usato mi sono piaciuti un sacco, così come l'editing, la canzone che hai usato (che ci calza benissimo) e la colorazione! Sono contenta che il video sia arrivato in un momento calzante per te! Come al solito mi inondi di complimenti e io non so come rispondere decentemente o.o mi fa piacere che gli effetti ti siano piaciuti (e anche il colouring, che mi dà sempre problemi ^^''), anche se non credo avrò mai più la pazienza di editare con così tante icone nel video xD e comunque, no need to undestate yourself in the process -- i tuoi video *sono* belli e sempre molto sensibili, e ho tutte le ragioni per complimentarti a tua volta

Great video. They may have been dysfunctional, but I don't think all of them were crazy or manipulative like most people portray them to be.

Thank you! And I really agree, they definitely couldn't be saints living in times like those, and some were more ruthless than others, but failing to acknowledge human weaknesses and feelings in these characters is just as inaccurate a treatment. (Putting Shakespeare aside, I think George is the one who suffers the most from all-black characterization such as this, I get that he wasn't the nicest of people but it frustrates me to no end when they overly-demonize him in all fields, and Ricardian fiction tends to do so unfortunately...)

I like that Richard lll is finally getting more positive attention when it comes to who he was (which was not an evil, cold hearted villian) and what the times were. I kind of feel bad for George because they do villianize him, but I think he was more complex and was a man of his time, same with Richard.
