This video is about moving dirt the way it was meant to be done!! The 2 D10 operators are very good skinners, no wasted movements or wasted time. If the 660 engines are really Detroit Diesel I would be very surprised. Parts may be scarce for the original 660 engines but Cat has modern engines with same footprint.
They sure get a bit crossed up from time to time, gotta be quick on the wheel to straighten her out or those 2 D10,s will just jack knife you, good team here, circuit is well balanced with returning scrapers just coming back at the right time, windrow loading and tagging up on the move.
I'm curious why they would have been repowered with Detroit's? They don't sound like they are Detroit powered either. Didn't these originally have d353's for power
I mostly see IH/Case or John Deere 4 track tractors pulling a towed scraper bowl. I don't see any advantage of using antique equipment such as these....
