I wasnt off that much I thought around 270 with no changes and with changes it went up to around 300 thats damn good man. Thats what I want with 93octane just a safe street tune. I dig it
I'm impressed you're running that much boost on pump gas. The numbers are just like my Y7 but I'm on E85. Was hoping to see what it would make at 30 psi. I went from fel pro to OEM to je pro seal and so far the pro seal has been holding up pretty good with the head studs torqued to 70 lbs.
jeremy alaniz That’s brand new too and it’s not that. The headgasket can’t handle 30+ psi and the first run did good and the 2nd was doing good the 3rd run is where I feel like it failed and it kept getting lower boost on each pull. Cooling system was pressurized and my radiator hose was ballooned big time!
Man that thing moves! I'd love to see a flyby video or one of those 1320 style 60 roll *mexico freeway* pulls. 300hp moves this little cars my 2000 VW Golf puts 350 down right now and it's scary but leaves a grin on the face. Wish they had bolt up traction bars for the Mk4s though
Jonathan tube Yea for sure. I think if my blow off valve and headgasket would have held up better then it would have hit 350 easy. But boost leaking killed my power output
I am in the process of building a boosted Y7.. Got the 75.5mm no notch rods, 4 piston oil pump. And it's being finished from getting the high HP CSS. For the turbo I got a borgwarner 66/81 ( Might be too big) But long story short.. ( your videos always give me inspiration on finishing my build) I'm hoping to achieve around 300-350
If you've got 2500 to burn, a torqamp 48 volt electric turbo takes up almost no space, takes maybe an hour to install, and it'll spool the bigger turbo fast enough that the size won't really matter.
The start of the video I thought you sprayed the tree shadows onto the car( dope) ...little let down few seconds later . But love the build/channel keep up the amazing work! Also props on the free paint jobs or you buy the paint jobs for subs/friends. Many love from northern Alberta.
Great budget build and it was cool to watch it from the beginning. Also it's good to know there's a dyno/tuner nearby if I ever decide to engine mods. Your high compression y7 idea caught my attention.

I’d stick with an OEM head gasket if I were you. NGL, I knew you would have issues with the fel pro in the engine build video but I remember you said that’s all you had at the time. Oh well, a head gasket is simple enough.
I know but I don’t have a camera man or money to pay him. He is a professional he did this free but can’t always do it and I have no other friends willing.
@@paytoncraft-h6g wow it’s been so long, here goes I might leave something out though, I had P2PO rods, ACL main and rod bearings, vitara pistons, Hastings piston rings, ARP head studs, brand new OEM valve stem seals, new oil and water pumps, walbro 255 fuel pump, iridium plugs, and hunter tuned decapped injectors. With a China turbo kit. Oh and a chipped p28. I might have forgotten some stuff it was like 3 years ago and I sold the car almost two years ago. Good luck with your build though... a little piece of advice go Y8 if you can and build the head also you’ll definitely get what you want.💪🏼👍🏼
Thechristopherryan Yea for sure. Had boost leaks and made 300 so honestly I’m happy with it. Ima fix them boost leaks and I’m positive 350 is a easy number to achieve even before E85
my friend drives an y8 internals stock at 10 psi and gives 240hp. I think the psi you drive is for me to give you about 380hp Sorry for my bad english, i speak spanish 😂
Hector Montoya Yea I’m also lower compression pistons than the stock y8 so I have to add more boost to compensate. Either way when i get all these boost leak issues fixed it should be around 350ish or so. At least I would expect that.
Texas Honda Channel oo very good. I drives a z6 vitara-eagle build at 11psi and ir moves well, the map oh the ecu is for 20 psi but still dont get te boost. Idk how many hp it makes at 11psi
I’ve binged watched about 7 of your videos now and I love your car and when I ever have extra money I will make a d series turbo build. But what I can say is I hope you change your dash to one that supports power over 120 and also change the gauges so digital software but what do I know, you made alot of hp without my input

drewster956 The log manifold isn’t my real issue the turbo is a twin scroll and my intake manifold isn’t flowing fast enough now so the turbo and intake manifold need changed out.

I know this might sound stupid but I’m kinda new to the d series game and tryn build my ej8 for turbo, would I need a stage 4 for 300 wheel +? Or would it work with like a stage 1 or 2
I don’t use stage 1 or 2 for 300whp the stage 3 6 puck sprun clutch does great 👍🏻 stage 4 would be even better. the problem is the stage 1/2 don’t do forced induction or nitrous very well.
How do you like the steering wheel?? I seen the same one on amazon for about $50 and I just want a cheap one rn to go ahead and change out the clock spring for adapter and quick release cause my car isn’t driving for the next few weeks.

wojomojo Excess fuel flowing into the exhaust and igniting upon touching the hot exhaust. It’s totally normal when running rich/excess fuel. I have large injectors so the fuel run off is a bit more.
bashy m Yea the street has a different load than the dyno so the afr was dead on perfect on the street then when it got on the dyno it was rich so it needed fuel taken out.
Enrique Varela I only spent a grand total of $3,000 that’s including purchase price of car and paint and all the visual stuff. With just engine/turbo setup it’s around $1500-$2000 range but I have another video on the build break down costs

Ragged Ridez I didn’t get a dyno tune but for a complete dyno tune I think Eric cost $500? I am not 100% sure. I just did a dyno session where we get the numbers but Eric was a awesome guy and adjusted fuel trims a little but otherwise he didn’t do anything else.
