Based on your comment I was expecting a montage making these drivers look really cool, or Alexi telling someone their tire had a nail in it, being a Good Samaritan...not so much cosplay models.
@@down2earth485 yeah I agree. I feel the same about Sazuka but for different reasons. Like wtf happened to the good old downhill I used to watch when I was younger. At the same time I'm tired of drifting the same tracks in a video game so I could see 10 years or the same courses getting old. Maybe have a senior class on the classic track (someone else can figure out the logistics)
I like how most of the platforms used to build these cars are 15+ years old. Guess my love for them isnt misplaced. Although I do think the new supra is a great successor to the old drift machines.
@@tag206 theyre already cheaper than the s chassis’s and new supra. The 350/370’s are just hard to build + they were difficult to tune. Ive seen guys in the states drift them because thats their best option. But in japan, it just doesnt make sense.

Nice to hear the sound of the cars, shame when you watch most motorsports (D1, FD, F1, MotoGP) that you hardly hear the engine and tyre sounds. When I was at D1 Tokyo it was epic listening to the savage anti lag that a lot of the cars use. Great bonus footage Alexi! :D

A drifting video has never given me this sense of speed before... these guys are seriously moving. I honestly questioned if the footage was sped up at the start. Incredible Edit: Okay. Watching the runs around the 5 minute mark, I seriously can’t tell if this is sped up or not 😂😂
Because of the types of cameras used for professional sports and motorsports, the sensation of speed is often lost. It's hard to explain without going into all sorts of technical stuff (I'm a filmmaker), but basically broadcast cameras, combined with racetrack design, combined with the (necessary) positions of these cameras in order to capture as much of the action as possible (more cameras = more operators = more cost) means losing perspective. Even Top Fuel can look slow on TV, but _in person_ it doesn't even seem like it's possible there are human beings inside of them. Think of it like watching a 747 fly over your house. It's going 500+mph, but it's also 2 miles up. It doesn't look fast because there's nothing close to it to put it into context (how big is that cloud? how far away is it? who knows?). Meanwhile, a downhill skier at 70mph looks fast AF because they're whizzing by flags and stuff every second.
@@lucasnatson6536 I just love the sanpatsu over the track's finishing line, and the track is tight so you'll have to go hard to link it all the way to the main straight. Nikko circuit is another great track with kinda the same feel/style which I really like.
After Kaoru*s death Shinji could no longer lie to themselves & came out as transgender. From now on please use the She/Her pronouns. That or Rei decided to cosplay as Shinji for the day

Me too for sure but I also see this as just another facet/level of drifting, lots of time and research goes into these cars and the drivers themselves are (to me) seriously some of the best. That being said though I'd rather this over FD any day.
I did watch the stream and im suprise that daigo mk5 door got destroy by Naoki like dude thats awesome and aggresive but at the same time its terrifying
Oh god some of these cars seem like they have a tonnnnnnn of grip lol I guess they are using specific tire compounds, but wow... It must be pretty damn easy to snap it the wrong way if one isn't dialed in.
From the first angle you can really tell who is super gripped up and who isn't. I know they are all hauling the mail, but about 3 of the first few cars are above and beyond that lol
